Dundalk Horse Racing Tips – Wednesday November 17

Wednesday Irish horse racing takes place at Dundalk, where they host an eight-race card. Our Irish horse racing expert has selected his top bets on the card which you can check out below.

Shaky Operator (17:30 Dundalk)

SHAKY OPERATOR has improved with each run to date and connections will be confident of a bold show in the Nursery Handicap.

The two-year-old was sent off 5/1 on handicap debut last time out at the Curragh and was not beaten far in a deeper race than this. Shane Foley’s mount was headed in the closing stages of that 1mile race and the drop back to 7f at Dundalk looks a wise move.

The two-year-old colt is also bred to improve now encountering this surface for the first time and looks like a solid player in this event.

Cheval Blanc (18:00 Dundalk)

Most eyes will be on Stellar Spirit in this contest but he is yet to win in ten starts and is down to 6f for the very first time.

CHEVAL BLANC had not shown a great deal in his first three starts but improved markedly when finishing runner-up over 5f on his first try on the all-weather. The three-year-old showed plenty of pace to mount a challenge two furlongs from home but had to finish for second behind Collective Power.

Connections will be looking to take advantage of the subsequent 5lb drop in the weights and he looks to have a better chance than most in this Maiden contest.

Bradesco (19:00 Dundalk)

This looks like a good opportunity for BRADESCO to follow up on a recent victory at this course. That was his first start at Dundalk and the four-year-old readily brushed aside his rivals and drew clear under jockey Chris Hayes.

An 8lb rise for that victory looks manageable and the drop back in trip should be no issue either as he was a solid third at Galway two starts back over 1m4f.

There should be a lot more to come from Bradesco and he could be the type to rack up a sequence of victories on this surface.
