JACKMEL won three times over this course towards the end of last year and possibly failed to see out the longer trip when last sighted back here in November where the Bushranger gelding finished seventh.

Kevin Michael Smith’s charge had previously got the better of Kudbegood by a neck over course and distance and that rival has won twice since, while the fourth horse home has also gone on to score a subsequent win..

He has a top 7lbs claimer on board here which will help to ease his burden at the weights and dropping back to one mile is a good move so it wouldn’t come as a shock to see him bounce back here with a better effort.

NIGHTLY WAILING got back on the winning trail when scoring by three-parts of a length from Punters Poet and the Vocalised gelding can uphold that form to follow up here.

Thomas Cleary’s charge had been out of sorts over shorter trips on turf, but he appreciated the return to the all-weather in a couple of runs prior to getting back on the scoresheet where he relished the return to two miles and there could be better to come over the longer trip where he is 2-2 over course and distance.

He’s only been raised 1lb in the weights following that latest win and he ought to make his presence felt again here.

WOODROW is still chasing his first win but he’s made the frame in his last three outings and the Ivawood colt can open his account now.

He’s finished runner-up the last twice over five furlongs here, the last of which saw him beaten just over one length by Hodd’s Girl and he can continue his progression back up in trip.

A tongue-tie was fitted on that occasion but is quickly dispensed with for this latest outing; he should nevertheless continue to remain competitive despite a 5lbs rise in the weights and he can get off the mark here.
