TOOREEN ANGEL is yet to open her account after seven tries but the Battle Of Marengo filly has shown enough to suggest she can win races and she’s made the frame in each of her last four starts on this surface.
Fozzy Stack’s charge was last seen being beaten just two lengths behind Mosala over course and distance in January, not helped by being hampered early and perhaps not ideally placed as a consequence. However she finished off the race well and with a bit more luck in running could go close.
She wore cheekpieces on that occasion and the headgear is retained for this outing and granted a decent pace it wouldn’t be a surprise to see her going close.

WAVE WALKER showed his first worthwhile form for a while when chasing home Stay With Me over this course and distance last month and John McConnell’s charge could go one better here if producing a similar level of performance.
The Footstepsinthesand gelding has proven disappointing since posting a promising debut for Sylvester Kirk a few seasons back and he showed little for Antony McCann prior to making his latest switch and he again cut little ice when tried over hurdles at Punchestown in November.
His most recent run however was a career-best where he was beaten less than one length and the third has won since to boost the form. He’s only 1lb higher here but Siobhan Rutledge is good value for her 7lbs claim and the pair can combine to land the win in a relatively modest contest.

MASALAI hasn’t won for a while but his latest success came over this course and distance back in October 2019 and Ed Lynam’s charge may be able to get back on the scoresheet having turned in a couple of solid recent runs.
The Art Connoisseur gelding was beaten only a head into second over one mile here in January when equipped with first-time cheekpieces and he ran well again to finish fourth when last seen behind Irish Ambassaor where he perhaps was given too much to do.
He’s been eased 1lb in the weights since and the drop to seven furlongs for this contest won’t present any issues so if continuing in his recent good vein of form then he ought to go close.

SLADE RUNNER produced a career-best effort to open his account over this course and distance last month and Kieran Cotter’s charge can quickly double up.
The drop to sprinting since joining this yard appears to have had a positive effect on the Slade Power gelding who finished a creditable fifth on his first start for his new yard in December and he stepped up on that first run in three months to beat Annabelle Rock latest by a half-length.
He’s been pushed up 5lbs for that which will demand a shade more, but the yard is adept at getting improvement out of ordinary types and with the potential for more to come he could be worth chancing to follow up that win here.
