This contest likely won’t take a great deal of winning and MATILDA WITH ME can get off the mark in a poor opening race.

The Morpheus filly has shown glimmers of ability in previous starts, finishing third at Kilbeggan in August and shaping better than the bare result when five lengths’ fifth at Punchestown the following month.

The drop to seven furlongs probably didn’t suit Roger Sweeney’s charge when last seen last month, but she had a subsequent winner behind her and having been eased 3lbs ahead of this switch to an artificial surface she looks to feature on a handy mark.

Blinkers return having been left off the last twice and back up in trip tackling polytrack now where she can race from a good draw then it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a big performance.

Despite not being well drawn it could be worth sticking with DONOCH to follow up his win last time out and Denis Hogan’s charge can strike again.

The Garswood gelding is a lightly-raced sort and showed improved form stepped up to twelve furlongs here in October to finish fifth behind Storm Steps, keeping on well without threatening. That form has been boosted and he himself came out to win next time over the same course and distance with a defeat of Stay With Me, scoring by a head.

He overcame the same draw position as he has this time around when registering that success, getting up close home and there could be better to come with the application of headgear for this outing while his 4lbs rise in the ratings is offset by his rider’s claim.

Still unexposed after just a handful of outings there’s likely more to come from him and while the draw again isn’t ideal he can nevertheless post another big performance where he could double up.

GINATO has hit the crossbar the last twice but Kevin Prendergast’s charge might be able to go one better this time and the Footstepsinthesand gelding can get off the mark.

Both those runner-up efforts have came here, the latest of which was over this distance when beaten two lengths by Ablah, slowly away and not ideally placed from his wide draw where Gary Halpin perhaps had to make too much use of him early to get him into a challenging position.

That form looks fair with the third winning since, while the fifth horse home finished runner-up next time and he can compete here from an unchanged mark where he reopposes with Adrian McGuinness’ charge on 3lbs better terms which could see him turn the tables now from a much more favourable track position.
