Thursday’s Extra Place Each-Way Tips

CORKED is a regular here at Newcastle, winning on three of his last five outings over course-and-distance. A slow start put paid to his chances last time out, but if Cam Hardie’s mount can be a little more alert out of the blocks, there’s no reason why he can’t challenge for another win.

In seven of her nine starts in bumpers, CELINE SOPRANO registered RPRs between 103 and 107. On her two starts over hurdles so far, Patrick Cronin’s mare has found herself outclassed in with some useful stayers over three miles. A distinct drop in both trip and quality could help Pierce Gallagher’s mount get competitive here. Heavy ground is a slight worry, but she looks very well-treated.

A really interesting race, with top two in the betting looking a little ahead of their rivals. That being said, an each-way chance can be taken on COSMELLI following up, after he produced a career-best display to win at Chelmsford seven days ago and I doubt a four-pound penalty will scupper too much of his momentum.

A good victory at Galway and a series of consistent performances in staying races have helped DUHALLOW PADDY reach a mark of 93 over fences. Willie Cronin’s seven-year-old is still a maiden over the smaller obstacles, but he’s clocked an RPR of 93 on both his hurdles starts in the past 12 months and should have no problem dealing with this sort of ground. He, too, is well handicapped off his current hurdles mark of 86.
