Friday’s Extra Place Each-Way Tips

MEDAHIM is a horse I thought was well-handicapped through the majority of last season. Sadly, Ivan Furtado’s charge couldn’t get his head over the line, finishing second twice in big handicaps at York and Doncaster. Now having his first start for Satish Seemar, Medahim could relish the chance to strike in a level-weighted contest, and his all-weather record suggests he could take kindly to dirt.

The one I want to take a chance on here is REVERBERATION, who’ll be running off a career-low mark on Friday. James Lambe’s five-year-old won on his first start over course and distance here a couple of years ago. Reverberation has only hit the frame on a couple of occasions since then, but he’s certainly well handicapped now, has previous at the course and has been drawn kindly in stall five. He looks a solid each-way tip.

SHANGHAI CITY caught the eye here back in November, running on well to place fourth having been drawn terribly out wide in stall 11. Joel Rosales’ mount has run as well over six and seven furlongs since then. Dropping back to five should be ideal and Shanghai City has been drawn much better this time around. He looks well-treated running off 65.

Followme Followyou was our selection in this article when he went close a couple of weeks ago, and it’s no surprise to see him leading the betting this time around. One who it could be worth siding with at an each-way price is GETGO, who’s run well over this trip on several occasions and should be a big player here with just 8-10 to shoulder.

Joseph O’Brien boasts an excellent strike rate at Dundalk this season, and to see his two runners sitting atop the betting is an ominous sign for the rest of the field. As each-way tips go, though, MALBAS holds plenty of appeal. Denis Hogan’s four-year-old bolted up over this trip at Bellewstown over the summer, and was only beaten four lengths off a mark two pounds higher than this back in October. Malbas has been beaten over trips shorter than ideal the last twice, and should be a factor back over a more suitable distance.
