Horse racing fixtures 15 – 21 September – Details of this week’s UK and Irish horse racing fixture including the Ayr Gold Cup meeting
Brian Healy takes a look ahead at Sunday’s UK and Irish horse racing meetings and highlights over the next seven days.
Following on from a terrific and hectic week of horse racing action that saw not only the Doncaster St Leger Festival go to post but also the Listowel Harvest Festival and Irish Champions’ Weekend, punters this week have more to look forward to with the Ayr Gold Cup meeting taking centre stage from Thursday.
Other feature races throughout the week include the Group Two Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury on Saturday, while there is Listed action taking place on several of the week’s fixtures.
MONDAY 16 SEPTEMBER
Five UK and Irish horse racing meetings go to post throughout Monday which shees afternoon flat racing from Brighton and Thirsk; while jumps racing comes from the cards at Worcester, and also Galway in Ireland.
There is also an evening fixture on the all-weather at Kempton under the floodlights.

TUESDAY 17 SEPTEMBER
A further five UK and Irish horse racing meetings go to post on Tuesday where the afternoon flat racing action comes from Redcar, Yarmouth and Chepstow; while in Ireland there is a twilight fixture at Galway on the level where there is Listed action on the card.
Completing Tuesday’s line-up of horse racing meetings is an evening meeting on the all-weather at Newcastle.

WEDNESDAY 18 SEPTEMBER
Wednesday’s fixture list of UK and Irish horse racing fixtures takes in five meetings which sees afternoon flat racing action at Yarmouth, Beverley and Sandown, as well as from Naas in Ireland.
Both Yarmouth and Sandown’s meetings feature Listed action, with the John Musker Fillies’ Stakes at the first-mentioned track, while the Fortune Stakes goes to post at Sandown.
There is also jumps racing action at Kelso which hosts a twilight card over the sticks.

The Ayr Gold Cup meeting kicks off on Thursday for the first of three days’ racing at the Scottish track, with the Listed Doonside Cup the feature of the day.
There is also flat racing action taking place from Yarmouth and Pontefract.
Meanwhile there is evening all-weather action from both Southwell on fibresand and Chelmsford on polytrack under the floodlights.

The Ayr Gold Cup meeting continues into a second day on Friday where there is further Listed action on the card at the Scottish venue as well as the Bronze Cup consolation race.
There is also Listed action on Newbury’s Friday racecard, while Newton Abbot and Ballinrobe in Ireland both race over the sticks.
All-weather action meanwhile in the evening comes from the Newcastle tapeta, and also Dundalk’s polytrack surface.

Seven UK and Irish horse racing meetings go to post throughout Saturday, including the Ayr Gold Cup meeting where the competitive eponymously-titled handicap takes centre stage on a card which also includes the Group Three Firth OF Clyde Stakes and the Silver Cup consolation.
Meanwhile, at Newbury the Group Two Mill Reef Stakes is the feature race of the day at the Berkshire venue where the card also features the Group Three Dubai Legacy Cup.
The Cesarewitch Trial is also on the agenda at Newmarket, and there is further flat racing from Catterick and also Chelmsford on the all-weather.
Group Three action dominates the card in Ireland at Gowran Park; while completing Saturday’s fixture list is an all-weather meeting on the tapeta at Wolverhampton.
