Brian Healy looks ahead to this week’s UK and Irish horse racing meetings where there is plenty for punters to look forward to on the flat and over the sticks.

After another thrilling week of horse racing action across the UK and Ireland, there is plenty more classy action to look forward to over the course of the next seven days with Newmarket racing over two days this weekend where there is Group One action on both Friday and Saturday with the Bet 365 Fillies’ Mile, and also the Dewhurst Stakes.

It is also the start of the new jumps season at Chepstow, with the Grade Two Persian War Hurdle going to post on Friday, while the Grade Three Silver Trophy Handicap Hurdle spearheads Saturday’s action at the Welsh venue.

Meanwhile, in Ireland it is Irish Cesarewitch Day at Limerick on Saturday, while 24 hours later the Munster National goes to post at the same venue.

MONDAY 7 OCTOBER

Five UK and Irish horse racing meetings go to post on Monday where afternoon flat racing action comes from the cards at Pontefract and Windsor; while over the sticks there are fixtures at Stratford, and also from Tipperary in Ireland.

Meanwhile, completing Monday’s line-up is an all-weather fixture on the tapeta at Newcastle.

And on the all-weather in the evening there are meetings at Newcastle on tapeta, and on polytrack in Ireland at Dundalk.
