1:00 Lingfield – Free Tips On attheraces.com Handicap Cl4 (3yo+ 0-85) 1m
Progressive MIQUELON won for this column almost two weeks ago when going in over course and distance and the Kingman gelding can follow up to register back-to-back wins.
Archie Watson’s charge has made the frame in all but one of his starts this terms which includes a pair of wins and he can continue his good form here having ran out an easy winner last time from Delicate Kiss.
He had also won at Chepstow in August and the form of his most recent victory took a boost when the fourth won next time out. A 5lbs rise does demand a little more from him back in a Class 4 contest but he’s one who is very much going the right way and he ought to be involved again here.
2:22 Stratford – Pertemps Network Group Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Chase Cl4 (4yo+ 0-120) 2m6½f
ACCORDINGTOGINO could get back to winning ways here on his return to action and Dan Skelton’s charge can go well if fully tuned up.
The Perugino gelding was a winner last term at Warwick before finding heavy ground too much at Bangor on his next start, pulling up in desperate conditions. Off subsequently for three months he posted successive runner-up finishes at this venue and Cheltenham before running flat on his final start of the season at Ffos Las.
He sets out this term 2lbs below the mark from which he posted those two runner-up efforts and if back to something akin to his best then he could take some beating and he’s chanced to make a winning reappearance.
2:44 Pontefract – Leslie Burton (Fisher) Handicap Cl4 (3yo 0-80) 1m
UNDER FOX has taken his form up a notch since being fitted with blinkers, winning twice and Tim Easterby’s charge can add another win to his tally here.
The Dandy Man gelding has struck wins at Newcastle and Hamilton latterly, scoring by two lengths from Tromso in soft ground and proven over further than this distance he could make his stamina tell in the conditions.
His earlier third-place finish at Newcastle has seen the form franked by the runner-up winning twice since while the fifth and seventh horses home both also registered subsequent victories and a 4lbs rise in the weights for his most recent success could prove workable still so another big run wouldn’t come as a surprise in conditions that will hold no fears.
3:00 Lingfield – Ben Woollacott Memorial Handicap Cl3 (3yo+ 0-95) 1m4f
SHANDOZ looked one to follow last term when winning his first two starts of the season at Ascot, adding to an end-of-season victory at Wolverhampton the campaign prior and making his reappearance here Roger Varian’s charge can get back to winning ways.
The Golden Horn gelding might not have been suited by soft ground when down the field in the Old Rowley Cup on his final start of last season, slowly away and unable to get competitive at any stage of the race.
A past winner on tapeta he could take well to polytrack on his reappearance and if fully wound up on his return to action he could make his presence felt stepping out in a Class 3 on his reappearance.
3:14 Pontefract – Racingtv HD Bluff Cove Handicap Cl5 (3yo+ 0-70) 2m2f
FIRST ACCOUNT was a fair sort over hurdles, reaching a rating of 124 at his best and winning both over hurdles and fences; the Malinas gelding can now get off the mark on the flat having ran with credit in three starts in this sphere over much shorter trips.
Keith Dalgleish’s charge now goes up markedly in distance for his handicap debut where he’s been handed what could prove a very lenient opening 62 rating before Billy Garrity’s 3lbs claim is added to the mix.
A visor is also refitted and he struck at Perth on his last hurdles start in the headgear so he could go very well here now he’s faced with a much more suitable test of stamina given he won over three miles over hurdles and with soft ground no issue.
8:00 Wolverhampton – Download The At The Races App Handicap Cl5 (3yo+ 0-70) 5f
STREET LIFE is on a role at present, winning his last three starts and the Hot Streak gelding can add another victory to his tally here.
Patrick Morris’ charge most recently struck over this course and distance two weeks ago, beating Hyde Park Barracks by an easy three lengths under this rider having also scored wins at Haydock and Lingfield and despite running around late on he won well and with some authority.
He has more on his plate here from 9lbs higher and in an arguably stronger contest, but given his current good spell of form he could yet have more to offer and no surprise if he were to make his mark again here.
