Well-bred CORPS DES PAGES shaped with plenty of promise when finishing third on debut at Leopardstown almost a fortnight ago and with that experience behind him Paddy Twomey’s charge can improve to open his win account.
The Frankel colt was beaten just over three lengths on that first occasion, travelling well into the straight but finding only one pace although he’ll certainly come on for the run which came behind a pair of well-regarded types.
There could be better to come and the winner of that debut went close at Cork on Friday so the form could prove very useful in time and he could make his presence felt here where he can improve on the performance he turned in on debut dropping back to a trip that might be more suitable.

LONGBOURN may just have needed the outing when returning from more than four months off at Dundalk last month, finishing third to Alhaazm where he was unable to quicken late on and eventually crossed the line two lengths adrift.
Ross O’Sullivan’s charge had been progressive on turf last summer, making the frame at Ballinrobe prior to getting off the mark at Tipperary and the Mukhadram gelding could do better here with that outing under his belt.
He can race here from the same mark but Joey Sheridan comes in for the ride and his 5lbs claim can prove invaluable here as the five-year old returns to turf which may well yield improvement so it would be no surprise to see him involved here.

MUDAWY showed progressive form last term, posting a career-best when upped to seven furlongs at Cork in September where he chased home the useful Fiscal Rules, beaten just over one length on that occasion.
Kevin Prendergast’s charge subsequently returned from six months off to post a solid reappearance third to Dedillon at Dundalk in March, beaten five lengths and the Dark Angel gelding can improve for the run.
He was conceding race-fitness to the front pair and possibly didn’t help himself by racing keenly early; but expected to strip fitter now with that under his belt he can do better and back on turf it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him going close given his progressive form on the surface last term.

EBONY MAW is worth another chance having looked in need of the run at Cork on his recent reappearance and Ger Lyons’ charge can step up markedly now with that under his belt.
A maiden winner at Navan last term he was returning from more than five months off the track when only finishing ninth behind Aesop although the way he faded out of the race suggests he wasn’t at his best either amiss or having need of the outing.
He wasn’t persevered with once held and he could prove a different proposition now he’s blown away the cobwebs. The handicapper has also eased him 1lb following that run and the Iffraaj gelding can do better this time around.
