Irish Horse Racing Tips – Wednesday, July 13
The action in Ireland on Wednesday comes from Killarney, which hosts a seven-race Flat card, as well as Downpatrick, which hosts seven races over Jumps. Our Irish horse racing expert has identified his top bets on the day which you can check out below.
Darkest Hour (4.50 Downpatrick) 8/1
The best bet on Downpatrick’s seven-race Jumps card comes in the North Down Marquees Handicap Hurdle, where DARKEST HOUR rates the one to beat.
Mark McNiff’s gelding hasn’t managed to get his head in front in 17 starts to date, yet only seven of those outings came over hurdles, and he bounced back from some underwhelming showings when third in an extended 2m1f handicap at this track last month.
That was his first run here, so it’s no surprise that connections are persevering with him at the venue, and he shaped on that last run as though stepping up to this trip will be to his benefit.
Phillip Enright replaces a 7lb claimer here, and he’s been profitable to follow with his rides at this track, operating at a level stakes profit of +22.88 in the last five seasons.

Irish Horse Racing Tips. Phillip Enright can get amongst the winners at Downpatrick on Wednesday.
Cowboy Justice (6.10 Killarney) 11/4
Killarney’s Rose Hotel Rated Race takes place on Wednesday and it appears to provide COWBOY JUSTICE with a good chance to get back to winning ways.
This Lope De Vega colt was a Curragh maiden winner last summer, where he had the now 100-rated Swan Bay directly behind.
Although he’s failed to add to that in his three starts this season, he went close at Naas on his penultimate run and can be easily forgiven a subsequent Chester defeat where he was disadvantaged by having to race at the rear of the field from a wide draw.
Cowboy Justice has a much better stall to his advantage here in 3 and comes out quite favourably on these terms. Shane Foley’s presence in the saddle suggests that he is the stronger favoured of the Harrington duo, and he looks just about the best bet in Ireland on Wednesday.
Voice Of Angels (6.40 Killarney) 9/1
Killarney’s feature race on Wednesday is the Listed Irish Stallion Farms EBF Cairn Rouge Stakes, where VOICE OF ANGELS rates the one to be with.
Joseph O’Brien’s filly had some top form to her name as a juvenile which included narrow defeats to Oaks fourth Concert Hall and the now 109-rated Listed-winner Limiti Di Greccio.
Although only fourth in a pair of handicaps earlier this season, Voice Of Angels was much improved when justifying odds-on favouritism to score at Navan in May, and although only seventh in Listed company in France subsequently, that ground might not have been ideal for Voice Of Angels and she hung right down the straight.
Cheekpieces now go on for the first time, and the stable is currently going great guns. From the family of the likes of Hermosa and Hydrangea, Voice Of Angels is bred to operate at patten level, and this is a race that has historically been a good one for 3yos, with six of the last eight renewals going to that generation.

Irish Horse Racing Tips. Joseph O’Brien can land the feature race at Killarney on Wednesday with Voice Of Angels.
