ITV7 Selections for Today’s Racing at Newcastle – £1,000 Jackpot on Offer!
ITV7 Selections for Monday’s Newcastle Meeting
The popular free-to-play ITV7 competition provides players with the opportunity to win real cash prizes by selecting winners on seven select races. This Monday’s competition centres around Newcastle’s all-weather card, with £1,000 on offer for the winner. We have provided tips for all seven races below – which make up our advised ITV7.
NAJEEBA – Race 1 (4:55pm Newcastle)
The opening leg of the ITV7 can go to current market leader NAJEEBA. This filly has only managed to finish 8th and 7th in two starts to date yet on the latter, was only beaten 2l in a race which has worked out very well since.
She is bred to improve now tackling this extended 1m4f, and returns from a break with her yard going great guns.
JOMONT – Race 2 (5:25pm Newcastle)
JOMONT looks like a particularly interesting runner here for the Michael Dods’ yard. This 4yo had some useful form to his name in novice/maiden company earlier this year and his latest handicap debut 6th can be upgraded considering that he was short of room at a crucial stage.
He drops into 0-65 company here and handles Newcastle, having finished a close 2nd in a Jumpers Bumper here back in February.
ANTARAH – Race 3 (6:00pm Newcastle)
Difficult to get away from the claims of ANTARAH here, who is bred in the purple being a Sea The Stars colt out of a Listed winning mare.
This is the only runner on the card for the powerful John & Thady Gosden team, who have been seen to good effect with their runners at Newcastle in recent seasons.
MUVERAN – Race 4 (6:30pm Newcastle)
Karl Burke’s MUVERAN cut little ice in three starts in novice/maiden company but better was clearly expected when backed into favouritism for a course and distance nursery ten-days-ago.
Muveran almost justified that support, eventually finishing 2nd, just a neck off the eventual winner. The 3lb rise received has been offset by his Pierre Louis-Jamin’s claim, and whilst this represents a step up in class from that last run, he remains open to improvement.
GLORIOUS RIO – Race 5 (7:00pm Newcastle)
GLORIOUS RIO brought his record over course and distance to an unblemished 3-3 when demolishing his rivals earlier this month.
Although not at that level at Pontefract subsequently, he had excuses for the run having been hampered on more than one occasion. Getting back on the all-weather looks a notable plus for his chances today, and Jonny Peate – who has struck up a good partnership with the 4yo – keeps the ride.
MC’TED – Race 6 (7:30pm Newcastle)
Joseph Parr has his string in good form at present and sends the lightly-raced MC’TED here. This 3yo improved for the switch to handicaps on the all-weather when a close-up 4th at Kempton twelve-days-ago.
He may well have got up there granted a clearer run, and the handicapper has somewhat kindly left his mark untouched since. Mc’Ted wouldn’t have to improve a great deal on the form of that Newcastle run to feature here.
EYES – Race 7 (8:00pm Newcastle)
The final leg of the ITV7 can go to Jessica Macey’s EYES, who has been campaigned exclusively at Yarmouth in recent starts – finishing a close second at that venue last time out.
She runs off 1lb higher today, but will have no problem with the switch to the all-weather and handled Tapeta when trained by Jamie Osborne. Connections tend to do well when taking runners to Newcastle, and Eyes is their sole runner on tonight’s card.
