Loader’s Daily Double – Best bets at Market Rasen and Southwell

Southwell and Newcastle tips.Southwell and Newcastle tips.

Chris Loader rolls his two best bets today into this Daily Double, covering races at Market Rasen and Southwell on Tuesday 26th February.

We got off to a good start with the Racing Tips Daily Double on Tuesday, as Auchterarder was gamely at Lingfield but then the writing was on the wall with Salkeev as she was weak on the day and drifted out to a double-figure price.

Today we have some jumping to look forward to with one selection coming at Market Rasen with the other coming on the fibresand at Southwell. Best odds available with Ladbrokes.

Wednesday’s Daily Double

2.56 Market Rasen – Get On The Yager

Get On The Yager has been slipping down the weights for a while now, but Dan Skelton looks to have found a winnable race today. Back in 2018 the ten-year-old was rated 140 but has now come down to a mark of 129 which looks dangerous. Furthermore this race is a small field today with only five runners and the son of Tamure has a strong record in these types of contests. Last time we saw him he was running a perfectly respectable race at Ascot but stumbled badly in the conditions and wasn’t able to recover. However that performance can be forgiven and the testing ground will be on his side. Also Dan Skelton has a good course record at Market Rasen yielding a 25% win rate over the past five seasons. Surely Get On The Yager will be back in the winners enclosure today.

3.35 Southwell – Asdaa

Yesterday we had a Mark Johnston trained winner and I am hoping we can have one in the shape of Asdaa. The four-year-old has been progressing well this winter and scored at Wolverhampton in his latest battling out gamely for the victory. Moving to the fibresand surface at Southwell shouldn’t been an issue as the son of Dutch Art has already made the frame here on his two visits in competitive races. This horse looks like the horse that continue to progress and the type that Johnston can do well with improving through the handicap ranks. If Asdaa can be prominent throughout the race he might be able to grind out an effort better than all his rivals.
