Loader’s Daily Double – best bets at Fontwell on Sunday
Chris Loader (@Luckyloaders15) returns with his best bets from the Sunday card at Fontwell.
I’m returning back to the Daily Double this Sunday with both my selections coming from the meeting at Fontwell. The Sussex course will be hosting its biggest meeting with the feature event being the National Spirit Hurdle
Sunday’s Daily Double
Monsieur Lecoq – 3.20 Fontwell
For my first selection, let’s look to the National Spirit Hurdle, where I am siding with the son of Diamond Boy. He’s proven he’s well up to competing in Graded company this season with highlight winning the Welsh Champion Hurdle at Ffos Las.
I think his trainer Jane Williams is making the right move today has he will be tackling two and a half miles for the first time. In his most recent outings including the International Hurdle at Cheltenham he was staying on strongly the in the closing stages after getting outpaced. I think he will be an attractive price today and can easily bounce back to winning ways.
Bob And Co – 4.50 Fontwell
David Maxwell has been purchasing high-profile horses and Bob And Co might have a serious chance in the Foxhunter Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.
On his first start, he probably would have won at Warwick if Maxwell hadn’t had got cramp which forced him to pull up. That race was won by Minella Rocco who has subsequently won since at Wetherby defeating the defending Foxhunter Champion, Hazel Hill.
After the Warwick disappointment he was turned out at Bangor-On-Dee and scored comfortably by just jumping in isolation. If the nine-year-old can settle into a strong rhythm he should be the one to beat in the contest.
