Loader’s Lucky 15 – best bets from Plumpton, Naas and Wolverhampton

Whenever I look at the weather forecast at the moment it seems to be raining. Ffos Las is due to hold an inspection and to try to avoid any non-runners ,I’m selecting horses at Naas, Plumpton & Wolverhampton.

2.15 Plumpton – Scrutinise

Every time there is fixture at Plumpton on a Monday in recent weeks, I just keep seeing the Page Fuller & Zoe Davison combination amongst the winners. Scrutinise was one of those whowon at the Sussex venue on his last start and did the job in comfortable style. The seven-year-old was raised 9lb by the handicapper for his success. He still looks like he has more to offer and there is a lot of question marks over the rest of the field. For me this is my banker leg of my EW Lucky15.

2.50 Plumpton – Vicenzo Mio

It’s hard to put your trust in Vincenzo Mio on his bare form figures as he’s still a maiden over fences and is arguably a better hurdler. However I think trainer Chris Gordon has found a really weak race for him to exploit. The son of Corri Piano probably needed the run earlier this month and will likely come forward for that. Being a strong traveller will probably suit him as there is a couple of pace angles in the race and I expect him to be on the scene in the final stages.

3.00 Naas – The Long Mile

The Long Mile is yet to really take to fences after running in Beginners Chase, however he’s pitched into handicap company here in a winnable race. So far he has been held up and those tactics should be suitable here. If he’s close to his mark of 104 I expect him to go all the way.

6.10 Wolverhampton – Punting

A selection on the all-weather to round off with the appropriately named Punter. Richard Hughes has been in good form of late operating at a 25% strike rate. This two-year-old filly ran a respectable race to finish fourth on debut at Kempton. Looking at her pedigree stepping up in trip shall suit and could possibly be favourite come post time.
