Loader’s Lucky 15 – best bets on Friday, January 3

A very competitive day’s racing awaits on Friday, however I have singled out four picks for today’s EW Lucky15. Selections come from a variety of meetings including Hereford, Musselburgh, Southwell & Wolverhampton.

Miracle Garden (1.00 Wolverhampton)

This eight-year-old showed a sign that it could be his turn again sometime soon and I hope it is today., Miracle Garden who is trained by Roy Brotherton finished in fourth place last time out at Wolverhampton against some in for rivals. He’s well treated off a rating of 58 which is last winning mark when scoring at Bath in June. With a good draw in Stall 4 I am hoping he can build on his promising latest effort.

Late Shipment (2.15 Hereford)

Late Shipment has showing his good form of late which included a second at Chepstow in a useful race. This nine-year-old is a three time course winner and goes on a testing surface. There’s some doubt with stamina and ground with some of the runners in the field who have to give weight to Late Shipment and with Richard Patrick claiming an extra 3lbs that helps even more. I expect to go very close and is the money is around he could go off favourite

Chanceanotherfive (2.25 Musselburgh)

Chanceanotherfive can’t stop winning at the moment as he seeks a hat-trick for trainer Stuart Coltherd. Both wins have come at the Scottish venue and has made all every time combining between hurdles and fences. If he gets another uncontested lead the son of Dubai Destination could be hard to pass.

Shine Baby Shine (5.45 Southwell)

This six-year-old mare has a decent record on the fibresand with two course and distance wins to her name. She’s been ultra consistent on her last few starts making the frame on each occasion. Furthermore Phil Kirby has been in great form in the past fortnight operating at 31% strike rate. Also apprentice jockey Nick Barratt-Atkin is able to claim a handy 7lbs which could be invaluable against some her rivals. For me the daughter of Aqlaam is difficult to oppose.
