Sunday’s Lucky 15

12.20 Carlisle – Dorking Cock (9/2 bet365)
(Stan Sheppard/Tom Lacey)

Chasing hasn’t seemed to go to plan for the son of Winged Love but going back hurdling could be a bold move from connections. He won a very progressive hurdler in handicaps last season and off a rating of 122 could still have more to offer. Moreover he’s a previous course and distance winner and goes well on testing ground. With Tom Lacey coming into some form I think this horse is the one to be on with our opening selection.

12.30 Fairyhouse – A Wave Of The Sea (5/4 bet365)
(Mark Walsh/Joseph O’Brien)

The race has been one for favourites with 9 of the last 10 getting the job done. Also JP McManus has a terrific record in this race winning with Landofhopeandglory and Espoir D’Allen in recent years. The three-year-old continued his progression beating some nice horses in a hot novice at Down Rotal last month by a convincing margin. Despite giving 4lbs to his rivals I think he’s could be a special one.

2.40 Fairyhouse – Honeysuckle (15/8 bet365)
(Rachel Blackmore/Henry De Bromhead)

I’m hoping this mare can get my Tote Ten To Follow stable off to a good start to win the feature race of the day. She’s yet to be beaten under rules and has the potential to be top draw. This will be her first time against the boys and proper Grade 1 animals but I think she has an outstanding chance. Henry De Bromhead has not hushed down her claims and I think we could see a vintage performance here.

3.15 Fairyhouse – Ilikedwayurthinkin (11/2 bet365)
(Daragh O’Keefe/Gavin Cromwell)

I have a source close to the connections of this horse I know they still think he is incredibly well handicapped. The five-year-old won too handicaps at the Galway Festival and was raised 21lbs for both victories. A mark of 132 could still well with in his range and he could be one of these horses to follow through the season in hot handicaps.
