Monday’s 4,742/1 Lucky 15 – UK Racing Best Bets on November 29
Horse Racing Tips on Monday, November 29
Two all-weather meetings at Kempton and Wolverhampton accompany jumps action from beyond the Scottish border at Ayr. Our editor’s Lucky 15 bet pays out at 4,742/1.
Rapid Raider (1:05 Ayr)
Fresh off Ahoy Senor’s sensational success at Newbury, Lucinda Russell runs a number of horses within her home country to try to keep the good times going.
One of those is RAPID RAIDER, who made the journey to Wales to score readily at Bangor last month. That was his first victory in five chase starts, but a look into his history suggests that was long overdue.
His win in his point-to-point came at the expense of Irish Grand National third Enjoy D’Allen, who is rated 145 over fences in Ireland. After that success at Bangor, Rapid Raider is still only rated 86. Couple that with what has appeared to be a significant improvement for wind surgery in July and another win looks on the cards, with the step up in trip looking in his favour.
United Front (2:25 Kempton)
Only seven go in this handicap, always an awkward number for each-way backers, but UNITED FRONT offers hope that only first place will be necessary.
He goes off top weight here, but his all-weather record is astounding: apart from his most recent effort, off what was probably too challenging a mark, and he has finished in the front three on all eight starts, winning three of those.
His previous run on this surface before that Kempton sixth was a victory over the very talented Zabeel Champion off just 1lb lower, and he conceded weight to that rival that day. Dropping back to a mile, after unsuccessful efforts up in trip the last twice, should also suit.
Daring Guest (3:35 Kempton)
DARING GUEST is another selection whose all-weather efforts have been superior to those on turf.
He almost exclusively runs on this surface nowadays, but there have, bar a couple of runs, been gaps of at least eight weeks between appearances. Once again, there is one of 100 days here, but he usually contends with them and is now down to a very tempting mark.
He has been second off two, three and four lbs higher than his new mark of 60 and was inconvenienced at a crucial time on his last start at Lingfield. A more favourable passage should see him well in contention.
Arriviste (6:00 Wolverhampton)
A’Shaari is a worthy favourite for Godolphin and has mileage in her mark, but she’s having her first run on the all-weather.
Of appeal at some odds here is ARRIVISTE who has been campaigned exclusively in pattern company since the summer of 2020 and found it too much for her this year in particular. However, her sole victory was on this surface as a two-year-old and she has claims on this mark, especially given how highly connections must have rated her in terms of the level she has run at.
This is her most realistic proposition in some time and her best efforts entitle her to a mark in the 90s.
