MEYDAN HORSE RACING TIPS AT A GLANCE

2:30 – GHAIYYATH (4/11, Betway)
3:05 – GOOD FORTUNE (2/1, Ladbrokes)
3:40 – SEREIN (13/8, Bet365)
4:15 – MYTHICAL MAGIC (13/8, Bet365)
4:50 – EQUILATERAL (1/2, Paddy Power)
5:25 – MIDNIGHT SANDS (4/5, Paddy Power)
6:00 – EPIC HERO (6/1, Paddy Power)

2:30 – Dubai Millennium Stakes Sponsored By Jaguar (Group 3) (Turf) (3yo+) 1m2f

It is hard to get away from GHAIYYATH (4/11, Betway) whose best form is a step above that of his rivals in this race and the Dubawi entire can get back on the scoresheet following a break.

Still lightly-raced, he is a four-time winner which includes an impressive success in the 2019 Prix D’Harcourt prior to posting a very good third of five behind Waldgeist when tried in Group One company in the Prix Ganay.

Subsequently given a break, he returned to action to run out a wide margin winner of a German Group One, romping to a 14 lengths’ victory in the Grosser Preis von Baden. He wasn’t seen at his best in the Prix de l’Arc De Triomphe on his final outing however, beating only two rivals.

He is better than he was able to show in that contest, and his record fresh is impeccable so ought to prove tough to beat here if anywhere near his best.

3:05 – Jaguar XE (Handicap) (Div 1) (Turf) (3yo+ 90-105) 1m

GOOD FORTUNE (2/1, Ladbrokes) has run well on both starts here in January and the New Approach gelding can get back on the winning trail.

Charlie Appleby’s charge was a Lingfield winner during his juvenile campaign, and he struck here last January with a defeat of Woven over seven furlongs although he was a shade disappointing next time upped to Listed class over course and distance.

Runner-up to Davydenko on his sole outing last summer at Newmarket, he build on a promising return over course and distance last month to finish a close third behind Salute The Soldier latest and a repeat of that will put him firmly in the mix.

The fourth from that race has since filled the same position in a Group Two contest here last week and he ought to remain competitive despite a slight suspicion that this trip is as far as he wants.

3:40 – UAE Oaks Sponsored By Range Rover (Group 3) (Fillies) (Dirt) (3yo) 1m1½f

SEREIN (13/8, Bet365) brings some solid form to the table from her native Japan and Mikio Matsunaga’s charge can strike here.

The Uncle Mo filly has won two of her four starts on dirt in Japan, latterly running out a neck winner over Pionono at Nakayama over this trip last month.

She made all the running that day, scoring a shade readily and while this is a tougher test she faces here on her first start at this track, she could prove equal to the task given she remains open to plenty of improvement.

Her trainer has a good record with his runners here, and with the Kentucky Oaks a possible future target for the Japanese raider then a good run is expected here and every chance she can collect.

4:15 – Zabeel Mile Sponsored By Al Tayer Motors (Group 2) (Turf) (3yo+) 1m

MYTHICAL MAGIC (13/8, Bet365) won this race twelve months ago and the Iffraaj gelding can follow up here having shaped well on his recent return in the Al Fahidi Fort over course and distance last month.

Charlie Appleby’s charge ran out a three lengths’ winner that day over Century Dream having run well on his debut in the same Al Fahidi Fort behind D’Bai and he treads a familiar path where he could repeat the same pattern as last year.

He failed to cut much ice in a pair of Group One races over the summer at Newbury and Ascot respectively; but he was beaten less than one length on his return to this course last month and he ought to be sharper now with that run under his belt so every chance he can go one place better this time.

4:50 – Meydan Sprint Sponsored By Land Rover (Group 2) (Turf) (3yo+) 5f

Waady ran out a good winner here last week, but he was beaten behind EQUILATERAL (1/2, Paddy Power) on his previous run and Charlie Hills’ charge can confirm that form here.

The Equiano gelding kept some good company last term, finishing runner-up to Mabs Cross in the Palace House Stakes before contesting at Group One and Group Two level on his next couple of starts.

He didn’t cut much ice at the top table however, but he got back on the winning trail by beating Qeens Gift in the Scarborough Stakes and shaped as if possibly amiss on his final start at Newbury. That still represents some decent form however and he was a ready winner over the reopposing Waady on his return.

That rival had had the benefit of a previous run, but the Hills runner struck by two lengths and should come on for the outing so every chance he can finish in front again here.

5:25 – Range Rover Velar (Handicap) (Dirt) (3yo+ 90-105) 7f

MIDNIGHT SANDS (4/5, Paddy Power) is thriving at present, winning his last four starts which includes a short-head verdict over Ambassadorial latest over one mile here in January.

Doug Watson’s Speightstown colt drops back to seven furlongs for this assignment, but he is 2-3 over course and distance and so the lesser trip won’t present an issue for the four-year old who targets a fifth straight win.

The form of his last win has held up well with the runner-up since finishing fourth in a Group Three; while the third horse home was an impressive winner next time out along with one who finished a lot further down the field.

He might just need a shade more here if he’s to collect a five-timer; but given his current rich vein of form he may well find another jolt of improvement and he can strike again.

6:00 – Jaguar F PACE (Handicap) (Div 2) (Turf) (3yo+ 90-105) 1m

EPIC HERO (6/1, Paddy Power) may just have found the extra furlong stretching him when finishing a close third behind Art Du Val here earlier in the month. However dropping back to one mile ought to suit the Siyouni gelding better and Simon Crisford’s charge can get back on the scoresheet.

A smart sort in France, winning on the all-weather at Chantilly, he has run well in Group and Listed company since. He got to within a nose of Suedois on his first start for Crisford over this course and distance last month and a repeat of that might see him go one better.

He sported a hood for the first time on that occasion where he almost overcame the worst of the draw and he can win from his current mark having been left unchanged in the ratings dropping back to one mile.
