MONDAY BEST BETS AT BALLINROBE – IRISH RACING TIPS OVER THE STICKS
4:40 Ballinrobe – Adare Manor Opportunity Maiden Hurdle (4yo+) 2m2f
KENDANCER has shown enough over hurdles to suggest he can pick up a small race and Charles Byrne’s charge could make a winning breakthrough here.
The Kendargent gelding made the frame three times from four starts over timber last term and he’s twice finished fourth this campaign in outings at Bellewstown and Kilbeggan, latterly behind Sicario and a repeat of that effort ought to put him in the mix.
His form last season sets a decent standard for this race and he could prove a tough nut to crack under Philip Byrne whose 4lbs claim can only be a positive.
6:15 Ballinrobe – Ballinrobe Racecourse Centenary Year Handicap Hurdle (Div I) (4yo+ 80-95) 2m6f
CHARLIE BIT ME has improved his finishing position in each of his last three starts, most recently finding only one too good at Wexford earlier this month and the Famous Name gelding can get off the mark here.
Peter Fahey’s charge was only beaten around two lengths in that last run, finding less than looked likely and he may have been stretched by the distance. He could benefit then from this drop back in trip and the form of his earlier third at this venue in July over a similar distance has been franked with both the winner and runner-up going in since while the ninth horse home has gone on to land a brace.
He is 2lbs higher here but given his current form he looks sure to go well and every chance he can open his win account.
6:45 Ballinrobe – Ballinrobe Racecourse Centenary Year Handicap Hurdle (Div II) (4yo+ 80-95) 2m6f
LET HER FLOW arrives here in good fettle and the Scorpion mare can follow up her latest success at Bellewstown with another win.
Matthew Smith’s charge had been out of sorts for his previous yards but the application of blinkers ahead of his debut for his current stable saw him finish runner-up at Punchestown in May before going one better latest where he ran out a two lengths’ winner over Presenting Cody.
He has a 6lbs rise in the weights to contend with here but it could be significant that Paul Townend comes in for the ride this time and there’d be no surprise in seeing her making her presence felt.
7:45 Ballinrobe – Ballinrobe Water Towers Beginners Chase (4yo+) 2m7f
ENNEMI PUBLIC was a fair sort over hurdles last term, winning at Tramore back in December over the minimum trip and the Coktail Jet gelding could make his mark over fences.
Sneezy Foster’s charge found only one too good at Wexford on his chase debut earlier in the month, beaten five lengths by Roi De Dubai where he wasn’t helped by a couple of late mistakes. Despite those errors though he jumped the second last in front but couldn’t maintain his effort and he could be well served by this longer trip.
Jordan Gainford takes over now in the saddle and with the potential for better in this sphere he looks sure to give a good account with improvement expected.
