BROSNA EMPRESS has been running better than her bare form figures suggest and the Holy Roman Emperor filly might be worth chancing to get off the mark now.
Her best finish to date came at Cork in September when finding only one too good in No Patience, denied only by a nose; she hasn’t been disgraced in starts subsequently and her latest outing saw her beaten just over two lengths into fifth behind Ablah where she kept on well having been hampered mid-race.
Now eased 1lb and facing some exposed and out of form rivals Jessica Harrington’s charge could be worth chancing to make the breakthrough here despite her high draw.

ST GEORGE’S HEAD has shown up well on his past couple of runs, scoring over course and distance seven days ago with a defeat of Tyrconnell where he seemingly was sparked to find improvement fitted with first-time cheekpieces.
Kieran Cotter’s Kingston Hill gelding had finished a good third the time before in the headgear and he found plenty for pressure to hold off the runner-up by one length last time with the remainder beaten in excess of four lengths.
The handicapper has had his say with a 9lbs rise which surely demands more; but now he’s got his head in front he could progress and while his outside draw isn’t ideal he ought to go close with a repeat.

Punters should watch their bets with Swift Verdict and SWIFT WING both lining up and a chance is taken on James McAuley’s Pivotal gelding who has only twice finished out of the frame in nine starts.
Still a maiden he has spent time with John Gosden and Tom Lacey prior to joining this yard and he shaped well on his first outing for this trainer when only beaten one length behind Itsalonglongroad over ten furlongs at this venue earlier in the month.
Off the same mark and upped in trip for this latest run he can continue to make his presence felt and in a fairly ordinary race he could finally shed his maiden tag now.

BLACKSTONE CLIFF has found some progression since joining John McConnell, winning two of his last three starts which includes over course and distance latest.
The Canford Cliffs gelding struck by just over three lengths on that occasion, readily landing the odds despite his rider dropping his whip inside the last furlong. He had travelled well into the contest and only needed pushing out to score from Persian Lion and there could be better to come.
The handicapper has had a big say in hitting him with an 11lbs rise in the weights; but his young claiming rider offsets all but 1lb of that hike up the ratings and has proven decent value for his claim. Likely to still be progressing he can make another bold bid for success here and every chance he can collect another win.
