Horse Racing Tips on Monday, December 6

There are three meetings spread across Britain on Monday with the action coming from Musselburgh, Ludlow and Wolverhampton. Our expert tipster has produced their best bets across the Monday cards, which make up our advised Monday Lucky 15.

Jobesgreen Lad (1.00 Ludlow)

This 2m4f handicap chase looks wide-open and it might be worth siding with one of the least exposed runners in JOBESGREEN LAD.

This son of Passing Glance is yet to win from his ten starts under rules but he put up a highly promising chasing debut at Ffos Las last time when chasing home the well handicapped Nikap.

He runs off 2lb higher today but looks a potential improver for this step back up in distance and his yard does well with their chasers here at Ludlow.

Spiritofthenorth (1.15 Musselburgh)

Kevin Ryan sends a rare Jumps runner to Musselburgh here in the shape of SPIRITOFTHENORTH, who has produced an RPR of 107 in each of his hurdles starts to date, finishing a close-up fourth at Sedgefield last time out.

A likely improver now sent handicapping in this sphere, Spiritofthenorth comes into this on his second start after a wind operation, which often proves a good time to catch horses, and he should appreciate the forecast ground conditions.

He receives 19lb here from market leader First Impression yet there would be just 11lb splitting the pair on their flat ratings and that makes Kevin Ryan’s charge the one to side with at the prices.

Shanbally Rose (1.45 Musselburgh)

Plenty of the runners in this 2m6f novices’ handicap chase look exposed and hold unappealing strike-rates, and that just makes SHANBALLY ROSE look interesting at a juicy price for trainer Rose Dobbin.

This 7yo has been limited to just the nine starts under rules, all of those efforts coming over hurdles, but being a former point-to-pointer she was always likely to improve for being shown a fence.

Shanbally Rose’s only previous run here at Musselburgh resulted in a 50/1 second to a horse now officially rated 19lb higher.

Shanbally Rose is herself a pound lower here, not accounting for her rider’s claim, and at the prices she just looks a little too big to ignore.

Finisk River (3.15 Musselburgh)

Donald McCain’s FINISK RIVER remains winless since last August, but on recent efforts appears to have slipped to a mark off of which he should be capable of landing this 2m4f conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle.

Having been beaten less than a length at both Perth and Bangor earlier this season, the most recent effort coming off the same mark on which he currently races off, Finisk River belied odds of 33/1 to finish third at Cheltenham last month.

This represents a drop in class from that assignment and his yard have proven profitable to follow with their runners here at Musselburgh in recent seasons.
