Monday’s 6,914/1 Lucky 15 – Our UK Racing Best Bets On July 25

Horse Racing Tips on Monday, July 25

There are four meetings spread across the UK on Monday July 25th, with the action coming from Ayr, Ffos Las, Newton Abbot and Windsor. Our expert editor has produced their top tips across the cards, which make up our advised Monday Lucky 15.

Vince Lombardi (2.45 Ayr)

VINCE LOMBARDI has shown clear promise in his opening two starts for North Yorkshire trainer Grant Tuer. Formerly with Sophie Leech, the three-year-old was off the mark at the fifth attempt last season at Chepstow and has certainly looked like adding to his sole victory for current connections.

A solid third at Newcastle on his seasonal reappearance following 267 days away from the track in June, Grant Tuer’s recent recruit was switched to the turf at Haydock last time out and caught the eye in defeat after being well supported beforehand. Racing towards the rear of the field on that occasion, the three-year-old had to wait patiently for a gap to appear entering the final furlong. Staying on strongly under jockey Ray Dawson, Grant Tuer’s charge ultimately failed to reel in those who got first run on him but it was still a taking effort nonetheless.

Back down in class on Monday afternoon, it would be no surprise to see Vince Lombardi go close with his sights slightly lowered and a bold bid from Grant Tuer’s three-year-old looks assured.

Jockey Sam James can get amongst the winners at Ayr on Monday afternoon.

Jungle Bee (4.25 Ayr)

Trainer Tim Easterby has sent out his fair share of winners recently and the North Yorkshire handler will be confident of adding to his recent haul with JUNGLE BEE, who failed to fire over course and distance last time out but drops into 0-55 company for just the second time on Monday afternoon.

Second last season at Catterick off a mark of 70, the three-year-old has certainly struggled for consistency in his seven starts this term. Down the field in his opening four outings this year, he ran his best race for some time when finishing runner-up in a 0-55 contest at Ripon last month off a mark of 55.

Rated 54, it would be disappointing if Tim Easterby’s charge fails to go close on Monday afternoon from his falling mark and connections will be hopeful that the three-year-old can finally put it all together and shed the maiden tag at the fifteenth attempt.

On The Pulse (6.20 Ffos Las)

Only four runners line up for the first race at Ffos Las on Monday evening and whilst it’s difficult to rule out any of the quartet, the vote goes to David Evans’ ON THE PULSE, who has already shown promise in her three starts in novice company this season and lines up for her nursery debut off a workable mark.

Sixth at Kempton back in March, the Dragon Pulse filly built on her debut effort when catching the eye at Bath on her following start. Third on that occasion, David Evans’ filly did all her best work late in the day and stayed on powerfully to finish third over the five-furlong trip. Fifth on her most recent start at Brighton, she could never land a significant blow after being slowly away and appeared stretched by the step up to seven furlongs for the first time.

Dropping down to six furlongs, it would be no surprise to see On The Pulse return to form, especially with connections deciding to enlist the services of in-form rider David Probert for Monday’s assignment.

Trainer David Evans can enjoy further success at Ffos Las on Monday evening.

Spit Spot (7.25 Ffos Las)

On paper, this appears to be a two runner race with Tamilla and Banned both setting the standard. However, it could pay to take a chance on one at a much bigger price here and perhaps SPIT SPOT can cause a surprise on Monday evening for the in-form Chris Wall team.

Although her future may ultimately lie in handicaps, the daughter of Sir Percy has produced two eye-catching efforts in novice company on her only starts so far this season. Sent off 80/1 on her debut at Windsor last month over ten furlongs, she was slowly away leaving the stalls under jockey Callum Shepherd but managed to make up plenty of ground inside the final quarter of a mile to finish strongly into fifth. Stepped up to twelve furlongs last time out at Kempton, Spit Spot filled the exact same position, keeping on well inside the closing stages after being restrained towards the rear of the field.

Beaten a dozen lengths, she is bred to stay further in time being closely related to a two-mile hurdle winner. A former assistant to trainer Sir Mark Prescott, it’s interesting to see that Chris Wall has booked Luke Morris to take the ride on Monday evening and it appears as if Spit Spot could bet set to run a big race here.

Jockey Luke Morris can get amongst the winners at Ffos Las.
