12:20 Tramore – David Flynn Construction Maiden Hurdle (5yo+) 2m
MR COLDSTONE didn’t show a great deal on the flat in a trio of starts for Johnny Murtagh where he twice finished fifth although well beaten both times; however the Tamayuz gelding switches codes and steps out over hurdles for the first time since joining Willie Mullins.
Henry de Bromhead’s Not Available is likely to prove a tough nut to crack and has the benefit of a solid hurdling debut two weeks ago, but the selection has to be of interest stepping out over timber for his top yard and he probably wouldn’t need to improve much to take a hand in the finish here.
Of course he has to prove stamina for this trip as well as take to obstacles, but he’ll surely have been well schooled and if wound up ahead of his reappearance following almost 900 days off then he could go close and he’s perhaps worth chancing to upset the likely favourite given he’s related to some winning hurdlers.

THE GETAWAY STAR boasts some very useful form in bumpers, winning twice and finding only one too good in a Listed bumper at Market Rasen twelve months ago; the Getaway mare has finished in the frame on both starts over hurdles and can get off the mark at the third attempt.
Declan Queally’s charge was beaten only three lengths into fourth behind Skyace at Down Royal on his hurdling debut which came in a Grade Three and he latterly found only Royal Kahala too strong when runner up at Fairyhouse in November.
This longer trip could unlock another jolt of improvement and with conditions ideal he should give a good account under the excellent Simon Torrens whose 5lbs claim is a plus to his chances so every chance he can go close with the prospect of further progress to come.

ITSALONGLONGROAD has wins on the flat, over hurdles and fences and the Lawman gelding can get back on the winning trail here.
John McConnell’s charge has just two starts over fences to his name, but he won one of them at Downpatrick back in September last year after which he posted a fair fifth here behind Yaiza. That race has since thrown up a couple of winners so while he was a shade disappointing on that occasion it may have been better than it appears at face value.
Also a winner more recently on the all-weather at Dundalk he was last seen finishing fourth at that venue last month behind Make The Switch and returning to chasing for this latest outing he could go well with Simon Torrens taking off 5lbs.
He’s a previous hurdles winner at this venue on soft ground and still unexposed there could be better to come still over fences and he can win a relatively ordinary heat featuring plenty of exposed types.
