RACING BEST BETS FOR TUESDAY – HORSE RACING TIPS FOR THE DAY’S UK MEETINGS
2:00 Wolverhampton – Cazoo Nursery Handicap (Div II) Cl5 (2yo 0-70) 6f
IF YOU CAN DREAM has had just three starts but the Showcasing filly has shown glimpses of ability despite thus far failing to trouble the judge and can make a winning breakthrough now tried in a handicap.
Clive Cox’s charge has finished fifth on each occasion, most recently behind Intelligentsia at Newbury last month where she was beaten around five lengths. The runner-up from that race has won twice since however to boost the form and stepping into the handicap ranks now she could be fairly treated from an initial 65 rating.
Blinkers also go on which might help eke out some improvement and she can give a good account here as she chases a first win.
3:25 Hamilton – Book Our On-Site Hotel Scottish Trophy Handicap Cl3 (3yo+ 0-90) 1m1f
LEGENDARY DAY can get back to winning ways here and the lightly-raced Adaay colt could have more improvement to come.
Hughie Morrison’s charge has won twice this term already, registering victories at Nottingham and Leicester earlier in the summer and running well in defeat when chasing his hat-trick at Newmarket latest behind Path Of Thunder.
He was no match for the winner on that occasion but he did have a subsequent scorer behind him and he can race here from the same mark for a yard which doesn’t send too many runners to the track but has a decent record here.
3:45 Wolverhampton – Cazoo Handicap Cl5 (3yo 0-75) 1m1½f
DICKENS is given another chance having looked progressive in earlier runs and the Excelebration gelding is excused his latest run at Newmarket where he blew the start and was never well placed to challenge.
Alan King’s charge had bettered his finishing position in each of his three previous starts, getting off the mark at Nottingham in June with a defeat of Muhalhel although he needed the stewards’ intervention for the win having crossed the line in second but subsequently promoted.
A mark of 75 is workable and if getting away better from the stalls then he could resume his earlier progress.
4:30 Carlisle – Bestival Season At MansionBet Nursery Handicap Cl5 (2yo 0-75) 5f
COME QUICK would surely have finished a lot closer than he did had he not met with trouble in running at Musselburgh last time out and Karl Burke’s charge can be given another chance to get off the mark.
The Es Que Love gelding had made the frame on all four previous starts which includes over six furlongs at this venue two runs ago behind The Dunkirk Lads, finishing third; that form looks fair and there could be more to come from him despite his run last time where he was unlucky in running.
He’s been eased 2lbs in the weights following that run and with the potential stil to improve he can make his presence felt here.
5:55 Leicester – Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies’ Nursery Handicap Cl4 (2yo 0-80) 6f
SOWS was a debut winner at Nottingham back in June and has been highly tried since, taking in the Albany Stakes on her next outing as well as a decent Conditions event at Windsor.
Richard Hannon’s charge beat only one rival home across those two tough tests, but the Kodiak filly showed improved form switching to a handicap when last seen and ran creditably in fourth behind Ever Given at Goodwood in July where she was beaten five lengths.
This is easier down in grade and the handicapper has dropped her 2lbs in the weights so a big run wouldn’t come as a surprise and she could resume winning ways here.
6:55 Leicester – Leicester Racecourse Ideal Conference Venue Handicap Cl4 (3yo+ 0-80) 1m
ZUHAIR is 2-2 this term and Marcus Tregoning’s charge looks a potentially smart prospect who can improve again to land his hat-trick.
The Showcasing gelding has struck wins at Nottingham and Ffos Last this season, latterly winning readily over Victorious Night where he made all the running and found plenty when asked for his effort. That bare form hasn’t really stood up thus far but he did the job well and likely has more to offer taking on more exposed rivals on his handicap bow.
A rating of 82 looks very fair on his first start in this sphere and there’d be no surprise in seeing him go in again to bring up a hat-trick of wins.
7:35 Carlisle – MansionBet Bestival Extra Places Handicap Cl4 (3yo+ 0-80) 7f
POET’S MAGIC has been in good form this term following a six-month break, only once finishing out of the frame in six starts and includes a pair of victories at Ayr.
John Quinn’s charge most recently finished runner-up behind Improvised at Epsom under a penalty late last month, beaten just over one length and that form has since been boosted by the fifth horse home who has won since.
Racing off the same mark here the Poet’s Voice mare ought to give another good account and if continuing her good run of form there’d be no surprise in seeing her going close.
