We’ve looked over the day’s racing action around the country to pick out our racing best bets on Thursday on the flat.

1:00 Brighton – Cazoo Maiden Handicap Cl5 (3yo+ 0-75) 5½f

WINGS OF A DOVE could prove the answer here having been highly tried in recent outings and Richard Spencer’s charge could take advantage of the drop in class here go open her account at the eleventh attempt.

The Dark Angel filly spent much of last season contesting Pattern company where she finished runner-up in a Sandown Listed contest last July and she’s continued this term to be set some stiff tasks, taking in Listed action on her return at Bath before probably not being suited by heavy ground at Ascot on her handicap debut at Royal Ascot in a much deeper race.

She beat only one home there but drops markedly in grade here while the handicapper has eased her 3lbs in the ratings. While she still has plenty of weight on her back Angus Villiers can relieve a further 5lbs and she ought to go close in this contest with her sights eased considerably.

2:30 Brighton – Land & Power Civil Contractors Handicap (For the Brighton Challenge Cup) Cl4 (3yo+ 0-80) 1m4f

RAVENS ARK won on his last visit to the seaside venue back in May and the Raven’s Pass gelding is taken to strike again here and end a run of three successive third-placed finishes.

Hughie Morrison’s charge beat Ivaquestion when registering that last success over course and distance and although beaten on all subsequent outings he’s shaped well and wasn’t’ beaten far last time at Sandown over further behind Dancing Harry.

He wasn’t seen at his best there, slowly away and outpaced before hanging in the straight; but he had a subsequent winner behind him and the application of cheekpieces for this outing could help him to eke out a little more so he could be worth sticking with while in some form to get back on the winning trail here.

3:50 Redcar – Market Cross Jewellers Handicap Cl4 (3yo+ 0-80) 5f

EEH BAH GUM has been out of sorts for the most part but it might be worth chancing the Dandy Man gelding who is well handicapped on his old form and Tim Easterby’s charge can bounce back to form here.

He did win five times in 2018 from as high as 83 in the ratings but he’s been winless since and has only once finished in the first three which came at Nottingham back in June when beaten less than one length behind Saluti.

His latest run came in a higher grade however where he ran better than the bare result behind Soul Seeker at York and dropping in class here where he’s been eased another 3lbs he could hold solid claims with Ella McCain taking another 5lbs off so he can run from a theoretical mark of just 59 which would be very exploitable if recapturing something like his best form.

4:10 Yarmouth – MansionBet Bet £10 Get £20 Novice Stakes Cl5 (3yo+) 6f

MEDIA BLITZ had shaped with some promise on her first run last term for Paul Twomey when fifth to No Speak Alexander after which the Kingman filly was absent for a year and joined George Boughey ahead of her reappearance at this venue last month.

On that occasion she found only one too good in Farhh To Shy, beaten two lengths having tried to make all but unable to sustain her run to the line which might have been down to a lack of sharpness.

She’ll strip fitter now however and can build on that silver medal finish to go one better here for her shrewd yard that has made big waves this term and with improvement expected she can get off the mark.

4:53 Redcar – Watch Race Replays On Racing TV Handicap Cl6 (3yo+ 0-60) 1m6f

DE MAZZARO has been in good form of late, winning his last two starts and Tristan Davidson’s charge could be worth chancing to land the hat-trick.

The So You Think gelding won at Musselburgh in June, scoring by a neck from Teemlucky after which he stepped up to this trip to strike a double at Nottingham latest with a head victory over Flying Standard.

He was made to dig deep in order to land that victory but he did so well and the front two pulled clear of the rest so a 3lbs rise for that victory looks fair and there might still be more to come from him in pursuit of his three-timer.

6:48 Doncaster – William Hill Lengthen Your Odds Racing League R9 (Handicap) (For horses registered to Racing League) Cl3 (3yo+ 0-90) 7f

FOXTROT SIZZLER arrives here on a hat-trick and the Pride Of Dubai can oblige punters with the three-timer with another bold bid expected from David Menuisier’s charge.

He has improved since going handicapping in recent starts, winning a brace of victories at Newbury in recent weeks with the latest coming when beating Mr Tyrrell by a neck on the latest occasion, battling well and that form has been boosted since with the runner-up winning twice in subsequent outings.

The handicapper has only pushed him up 3lbs for that success which could prove lenient and another big run wouldn’t come as a surprise here.

7:20 Doncaster – William Hill Play Responsibly Racing League R10 (Handicap) (For horses registered to Racing League) Cl3 (3yo+ 0-90) 1m

AIR TO AIR has looked a progressive sort this term, winning back to back in starts at Newmarket and here before stepping up in grade to contest the Brittania Stakes where the Toronado gelding finished ninth behind Perotto.

That was a very good effort in the circumstances as he was drawn towards the unfavoured far side and found himself further back than ideal before running on and back at this slightly lower level he could bounce back to winning form.

He had won readily the time before when beating Willyorwon’t He over course and distance and the third from that race has won since to give the form a boost while jockey Nicola Currie has won on him before and likely to still be in form he can make his presence felt here.

8:07 Sandown – Devine Homes Handicap Cl4 (3yo+ 0-85) 7f

It could be worth giving another chance to RIKNNAH who had been a progressive sort prior to failing to fire in a hot handicap at Newmarket when last seen.

Simon and Ed Crisford’s charge had reeled off a hat-trick of wins previous to that disappointment which included at Newmarket in June where the Shamardal filly beat Dashing Dick by a neck and that form has been boosted with the runner-up and fourth both winning since.

Stepped up in class for her last outing she faded in the last furlong although was already beaten and she remains capable of better back down in grade and representing a yard in decent form. As such she’s worth another chance to show her earlier progressive form and there’d be no surprise to see her bounce back here.
