ROSCOMMON TIPS ON TUESDAY – TODAY’S IRISH RACING BEST BETS
5:05 Roscommon – Dysart Maiden Hurdle (4yo+) 2m4f
DINERO FALSO could be worth siding with having hit the crossbar on her last couple of outings and the Black Sam Bellamy mare can get off the mark.
Peter Croke’s charge doesn’t have many miles on the clock under Rules but she has shown enough to suggest she can win a race and there were good signs when she finished runner-up at Wexford in June where she was only beaten just over one length.
That run was followed up by a similar effort over course and distance and she could do better still here where she can improve again on the quicker ground, while her jockey can claim his full 5lbs allowance now.
5:40 Roscommon – Elphin Handicap Hurdle (4yo+ 80-109) 2m7½f
MISS TEMPO has looked a useful sort in her starts to date under Rules, getting off the mark at the second attempt over hurdles at Tramore in June having found only one too good on her debut at Kilbeggan in May.
Henry de Bromhead’s charge was a point-to-point winner prior to joining this yard and the form of her winning run has since been boosted with the third winning twice since from three starts and making the frame in defeat.
The Milan mare is in top hands as she moves into the handicap ranks and a mark of 103 could underestimate her potential to improve while Hugh Morgan takes off a very handy 5lbs and she looks to hold solid claims here.
6:10 Roscommon – Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Beginners Chase (4yo+) 2m5½f
Dual-winning hurdler THE SLIDING ROCK could be worth chancing making her chase debut and Sneezy Foster’s charge can make a winning switch to the larger obstacles.
The Shantou mare has been highly tried over hurdles in her last couple of runs, finishing fifth on her debut for this yard in a Grade Three contest before being pulled up at Fairyhouse in April behind Skyace.
However she looks the type to make a chaser and now tackling fences there could be plenty of improvement to come so no surprise if she were to turn in a big performance here.
6:40 Roscommon – Boyle Beginners Chase (4yo+) 2m½f
ALICE AVRIL won a hurdles contest in France prior to switching to Henry de Bromhead and the Balko filly made a solid start to life with her new yard with a good third over the larger obstacles at Limerick last month where she raced keenly and perhaps did too much.
That was her first run in almost six months though and she possibly just needed that pipe-opener and it looked a useful race in any case so she could well improve markedly with the outing under her belt.
The race-winner has run well in a Grade three contest since at the Galway Festival and there could be more in the locker to come from the Balko filly who can step up on that recent run to go close here where she gets weight all round from her rivals.
