SATURDAY HORSE RACING BEST BETS – IRISH RACING TIPS FOR NAVAN & GOWRAN PARK
2:20 Navan – Bar One Racing ‘Extra Place Races Everyday’ Handicap Hurdle (4yo+ 80-102) 2m
PRETTY LITTLE LIAR found only one too good on her last hurdles start at Wexford earlier this month but the Excellent Art mare had won on the flat in July and could be capable of getting back to winning ways over timber.
David Dunne’s charge struck her last hurdles success at Stratford a couple of seasons ago from a higher mark than this and she found only Amlad too strong latest, going down by two lengths and that one has since run well in defeat.
A mark of 89 for this latest outing is still within her compass to exploit and if continuing her current good spell she can make her presence felt.
3:30 Navan – BarOneRacing.com Hurdle (4yo+) 2m6f
BARDENSTOWN LAD is in good form and arrives on a hat-trick having won both starts over hurdles at Wexford and Cartmel latest and John McConnell’s charge can land his hat-trick here.
Also a bumper winner and a victor between the flags the Black Sam Bellamy gelding likely has more to offer and he can improve again having faced a simple task last time out.
This will be a tougher test of his credentials but he’s one going the right way over hurdles and he should make his presence felt again where a third success wouldn’t come as a surprise.
3:55 Gowran Park – Holden Plant Rentals Race (3yo+) 7f
CARRYTHEONE has proven quirky but talented as his record last term attests, winning twice at the Curragh and looking very much in need of the run on his reappearance in the Irish Cambridgeshire.
Johnny Murtagh’s charge wasn’t unfancied on that occasion but the Lope De Vega gelding beat only one home although he should be a lot sharper for that outing and can do better here.
Refitted with a hood for this latest run he has shown a decent level of ability and he comes into this race with solid claims and a few pounds in hand on official ratings so this could be a good opportunity for him to get back on the scoresheet.
4:30 Gowran Park – Denny Cordell Lavarack & Lanwades Stud Fillies Stakes (Group 3) (3yo+) 1m1½f
APRIL SHOWERS has made the frame in each of his last two starts and the Galileo filly can get back to winning ways here if continuing her good spell.
Donnacha O’Brien’s charge most recently found only one too good at the Curragh in July when beaten two lengths by Insinuendo in the Kilboy Estate Stakes but finishing clear of the third and she had a couple of these rivals behind her.
That was a very solid run and this slightly easier level can see her get back on the scoresheet for all this does look a very decent race for the grade..
