Saturday’s Daily Double – 7/1 double at Lingfield
Jon Vine takes a look through the card at Lingfield and rolls his best bets into his Daily Double on Saturday 15th February.
I hope I’m wrong, but I just can’t see any of tomorrow’s jumps cards going ahead. Storm Dennis is due to hit the UK in full force overnight, and the weather forecast down south is nothing but black clouds and rain. Even Haydock, which handles rain extremely well, may bite the dust after the 8am inspections.
This means Cheltenham Festival contenders like Pym and Sam Brown will not run in the Reynoldstown, but could force Paul Nicholls into running Cyrname in the Ryanair. So it’s not all doom and gloom!

A fairly easy place to start, as I see no reason why the classy KACHY (NAP) won’t make a winning reappearance in the all-weather, and his current price of even-money looks an absolute steal!
Tom Dascombe’s seven-year-old is a sprinter of the highest calibre. When last seen at Royal Ascot, Kachy sprung from the pack to finish third in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes, crossing the line less than three lengths behind impressive winner Blue Point.
On his opening two starts last season, Kachy bolted up here at Lingfield, beating horses rated in the low-100s with apparent ease. Yes, he’ll have to give a stack of weight away to the field in this handicap, but Richard Kingscote’s charge has more than enough class to cope.

The top two in the market clashed over course-and-distance last month, with Green Door beating SOMETHING LUCKY (NB) by a short-head. Both went on to place on their latest outings, and look the two to beat as they renew rivalries on Saturday.
Something Lucky was giving Green Door three pounds that day, and only lost out by a very narrow margin. This time, it will be Green Door who has to give weight to Rab Havlin’s mount, who will be gaining five pounds on his rival. Both have been drawn perfectly once again, having been placed in stalls two and three respectively.
The swing in the weights, combined with the fact he’s proven on a slower surface, leaves me thinking that Something Lucky is an excellent bet at 10/3. The perfect final leg for today’s Daily Double.
