SUNDAY CURRAGH RACING TIPS – IRISH HORSE RACING BEST BETS
1:25 Curragh – William Hill Ireland Acca Freedom Irish EBF Maiden (2yo) 5f
NEO SOUL has shown up well in both his starts to date, most recently finishing third at Naas ten days ago where he was beaten around four lengths behind Red Lacewing.
He looked outpaced at a stage before running on well late and may benefit from a stiffer test of stamina in time, but the Kodiac colt certainly has more to offer and Ger Lyon’s charge can improve again to get off the mark at the third attempt.
2:30 Curragh – Weld Park Stakes (Group 3) (Fillies) (2yo) 7f
TRANQUIL LADY stepped up markedly on her debut effort when readily landing a Galway maiden earlier in the month and the Australia filly could improve again for the experience to strike here upped in class.
Joseph O’Brien’s charge ran out an easy winner of that Galway contest, scoring by three lengths from Past Time and there’s surely more to come from her on that evidence.
This is certainly tougher thrust now into a Group Three contest but she’s still unexposed and likely has further improvement still to come so she ought to make her presence felt again here and she take the step up in class in her stride to register another win.
3:35 Curragh – Raa Atoll Loughbrown Stakes (Group 3) (3yo+) 2m
This represents a drop back in grade for SEARCH FOR A SONG who hasn’t fired thus far this term but might benefit from tackling this easier assignment.
The 2020 Irish St Leger winner had finished runner-up on his return to action at Leopardstown in a Listed contest back in May, but he’s been well-beaten on both starts since including when defending his Irish St Leger crown where he finished sixth to Sonnyboyliston.
His sole start at two miles to date in his career saw him chase home Trueshan in last season’s Long Distance Cup and a repeat of that would surely make him hard to beat easing down in grade and with Colin Keane in the plate he looks to hold solid claims if coming back to his best.
4:35 Curragh – William Hill Ireland Joe McGrath Handicap (Premier Handicap) (3yo+) 5f
ART OF UNITY arrives here on a hat-trick of wins having struck in his last two outings over this course and distance and Navan latterly where he saw off Arnhem by a head despite being 3lbs out of the weights.
That rival has since gone close again in a valuable contest here to give the form a boost and John Feane’s charge should continue to give a good account back over this course and with cheekpieces reapplied.
The Mazameer gelding does have another 6lbs rise in the weights to contend with, but he ought to make his presence felt in this competitive contest and no surprise if he were to go close again.
