Thurles Thursday tips and best bets
Just one meeting goes to post again in Ireland and our tipping team have picked out their Thurles Thursday tips and best bets for the day’s action.
There’s just one meeting going to post in Ireland on Thursday where a flat racing card goes to post at Thurles featuring seven races on the agenda where some competitive handicap and maiden contests await punters.
The afternoon card kicks off at 1.15pm and our tipping team have looked over the day’s fixture to pick out their Thurles Thursday tips and best bets.
THURLES THURSDAY TIPS – BEST BETS FOR THE DAY’S IRISH FLAT RACING ACTION
1:15 Thurles – Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden (IRE Incentive Race) (2yo) 1m
VOICE OF ANGELS had shaped well in a couple of previous runs where she made the frame in outings at the Curragh and Leopardstown respectively and she was unfortunate latest when clipping heels early and crashing out of a Listed contest at the latter venue last month.
Joseph O’Brien’s Dark Angel filly is worth sticking with on her earlier performances where she brings some good form to the table and with the likelihood of further improvement to come she can get off the mark here if none the worse for her recent spill.
1:45 Thurles – Thurles Nursery Handicap (2yo) 1m
CAPITULATION has been in good fettle of late, winning at Bellewstown in August and going close when last seen out at Listowel last month when beaten only by the progressive Tut Tut in a valuable handicap there.
Ado McGuinness’ charge has been left alone at the weights following that last run and this looks an easier contest than last time; while a good 5lbs claimer in the plate further enhances her claims.
There could be better yet to come from the Elzaam filly and if continuing to show her recent good form turning out here then she ought to go well and can strike.
3:30 Thurles – Littleton Handicap (3yo+ 45-65) 1m4½f
EASTERN TORNADO has improved since tackling handicaps, making the frame in his last three starts and the Canford Cliffs gelding can get off the mark here.
Michael Hourigan’s charge wasn’t seen to best effect at Tipperary back in June when finishing fourth behind Future Romance, and has been given a break since. That form though looks fair with the winner and third both going in since and he is 2lbs lower here than last time.
There could be more to come from him and he went close following a break when beaten less than one length into second at Listowel in May so has shown up well fresh in the past and he can make his presence felt here.
4:05 Thurles – www.thurlesraces.ie Handicap (3yo+ 50-70) 2m
ANYONECANHAVEITALL can get back on the winning trail here having struck two runs ago at Down Royal and running well in defeat latest when third to Sea Appeal at Listowel last month, beaten just over two lengths.
The Ulster Cesarewitch winner has seen his Down Royal win franked by the runner-up and while he’s 2lbs higher in the weights here than last time out he should continue to make his presence felt and can get back on the scoresheet.
