WINCANTON RACING TIPS
SENDING LOVE (11/8, Bet365) returned from three years off the track to finish a good third behind The Jitterbug at Uttoxeter last month and Paul Nicholls’ charge can build on the return to open his account over hurdles at the second attempt.
The Scorpion gelding was a point-to-point winner prior to joining the Ditcheat handler and he was entitled to have needed that Uttoxeter outing where he travelled well into the race before appearing to blow up.
He’s been given the thick end of a month to recover from that return and he should prove a lot sharper now so every chance he can build on that run and no surprise to see him go close for top connections.
KALARIKA (15/2, BetVictor) hasn’t had her troubles to seek since scoring at Taunton back in March 2018 and Colin Tizzard’s charge has only made it to the race-track five times since.
Three of those came in the 2018/19 season following a lay-off and she got back to winning ways with a good success at Exeter where she ran out a six lengths winner over Galactic Power. The Kalanisi mare was then absent for more than one year before making her latest return at Plumpton in January.
She shaped very much as if she needed that run, eventually pulling up behind High Up In The Air. But she ought to be sharper with that outing under her belt and a wind surgery in the interim could unlock further improvement.
She could be worth chancing to bounce back from that disappointing reappearance and having been eased 2lbs in the weights she can post a better effort.
1.50 – Hollymount Holly
2.25 – Sending Love
3.00 – Kalarika
3.35 – Hit The Highway
4.10 – Duc De Beauchene
4.45 – Barbrook Star
5.20 – Time To Tinker
THURLES RACING TIPS
STEER CLEAR (3/1, Bet365) might well have been amiss when pulled up at Clonmel on his last outing and a subsequent three months’ absence suggests all was not well with Padraig Roche’s charge.
However the Flemensfirth gelding had looked a progressive sort prior to that run, making the frame in his three previous starts and he can bounce back here following his break.
Twice a runner-up at Clonmel and Fairyhouse respectively he could do better here and ought to be capable of reversing past form with reopposing Kavanaghs Corner on more favourable terms.
Mark Walsh takes the reins and no surprise to see the pair go close here returning from three months off.
ROMELLA (17/2, William Hill) might have found the longer trip on heavy ground stretching her stamina when disappointing last time out, but John Walsh’s charge had only been beaten a half-length over this course and distance on her previous outing.
The Milan mare showed improved form for the application of a tongue-tie, not beaten far with the front three pulling clear of the rest. That form looks fair and she could improve back down in trip and returned to this venue.
She can race from the same mark here but a useful 5lbs claimer eases her burden at the weights and a repeat of that effort could be good enough to see her open her account in a relatively ordinary contest.
2.05 – Emily Moon
2.40 – Steer Clear
3.15 – Onlyhuman
3.50 – Romella
4.25 – Eklat De Rire
5.00 – Bay Ambition
5.35 – En Beton
CARLISLE RACING TIPS
Cases could be made for all four of the runners in this race, but LASTIN’ MEMORIES (13/8, Bet365) gets the vote from the bottom of the weights.
Sarah Forster’s Overbury gelding has made the frame on all four starts this term over fences following a break which includes a last-time win at Kelso where he ran out a four lengths winner equipped with blinkers for the first time.
The third and fourth from that contest have both won since and despite being 6lbs higher in the weights here he could improve for the stiffer test. If the headgear has the same effect again then he ought to go close in receipt of weight all round.
GLITTERING LOVE (3/1, Bet365) progressed well last term over the larger obstacles, rounding off the campaign with four straight wins, and the Winged Love gelding can bounce back.
Nicky Richards’ charge was still travelling quite well when falling on his reappearance at Newcastle in December following more than nine months off the track, and he might still have needed the run back there in January where his jumping didn’t always cut the mustard.
Back over timber for this latest outing he could be capale of defying a mark of 120 and the application of cheekpieces could elicit some improvement. Title-chasing Brian Hughes is in the saddle again and the pair have built up a good rapport; they can combine again to good effect in this contest with a return to winning form.

2.50 – Lastin’ Memories
3.25 – Glittering Love
4.00 – Real Armani
