There are four meetings taking place on Wednesday 11th December, 2024 and we pick out our best bets for the day….
2.35 Hereford – Finest View (NAP)
Alan King’s FINEST VIEW has been a real model of consistency in recent seasons and showed some promise when finishing third on chasing debut at Kempton last month. The Barbury Castle inmate racked up a host of placed efforts prior to that chase outing, but was unable to deliver the goods over two-and-a-half miles last time out. Now, dropped back to 2m and given a 2lb drop in the weights she takes her chance off 118 for the 2.35 at Hereford and looks more than capable of landing success.
2.50 Hexham – Imperial Bede (NB)
A hugely competitive field lines up for the 2.50 at Hexham, but the Jonjo & AJ O’Neill-trained IMPERIAL BEDE could be attractively handicapped to land the prize for owner JP McManus. A winner on chase debut off a mark of 116, the six-year-old will take to the track on Wednesday off a mark of 110, so if the Jackdaws Castle inmate can make any notable improvement on his recent runs then he has to go close. Dropped 2lbs for finishing third at Wetherby last time out, he’s entitled to come on for that and looks a huge player here.
2.20 Hexham – Clovis Boy (Outsider)
Lucinda Russell’s CLOVIS BOY failed to follow up a victory at Newcastle when falling at Carlisle last time out, but if he can bounce back from that effort then he looks to have a great chance in a hugely competitive 2.20 contest at Hexham. Having narrowly won by a head at Newcastle prior to a first flight fall at Carlisle, Clovis Boy looked a performer that could still be on the upgrade, so he’s worth another chance and hopefully Derek Fox can keep the partnership intact.
