Loader’s Lucky 15 – best bets from Thurles and Wolverhampton

Chris Loader’s last three Lucky 15s have returned a profit and he’s picked his four best bets from Thurles and Wolverhampton on Sunday 19th January.

Monkfish (1.35 Thurles)

Monkfish has looked a strong stayer and this race looks ideal for him. His latest outing came at Fairyhouse over just shy of three miles when he broke his maiden tag. Trainer Willie Mullins has been in outstanding form in the past fortnight and, with stamina concerns over some of his rivals, this son of Stowaway is the one to beat.

Boom The Groom (3.10 Wolverhampton)

Boom The Groom has become very well handicapped off a rating of 79 as his last victory came in February 2019 off a 8lb higher mark. His best form has come on the all-weather and he finished second at Lingfield when attempting to make all last time. He’s ideally drawn today in stall one and his time has come if he can break well.

Elimay (3.20 Thurles)

Elimay is unbeaten so far over fences and looks to be a natural jumper. Her last start saw the mare easily take a Grade 3 at Cork beating some of these rivals such as Augusta Gold. Despite giving the opposition some weight, that shouldn’t be enough to stop her, and she’s my banker of the day.

Noble Emperor (3.50 Thurles)

Tony Martin is in extremely good form at the moment and has a 60% strike rate the last fortnight. Noble Emperor was a classy sort on his day but hadn’t been seen for a while until the end of last year. The veteran ran in a warmer contest at Cork last time out and is well treated in this field off 123. I suspect him to be backed throughout the day and he has the potential to be one of the favourites.
