Tote Placepot day three tips at Glorious Goodwood
We move into the third day of racing at Glorious Goodwood and another top-class day of racing awaits punters; the Tote Placepot will again be a popular bet for punters looking to potentially win big for small stakes and we’ve picked out our Tote Placepot day three tips and permutation on Thursday’s racecard.
The ever-popular Tote Placepot bet offers punters the chance to potentially win big for a relatively small outlay where the bet’s beauty lies in not even having to back a winner in order to collect a share of the pot.
Covering the first six races of the meeting punters only need to have their selection(s) make the frame according to the number of runners and the race conditions. For a more detailed explanation of how the Tote Placepot works see this page and check below for our Tote Placepot day three tips at Glorious Goodwood.
Having missed out on a share of day one’s pot in the final leg, our day two selections generated two winning lines although with several favourites making the frame the dividend return was only modest.
TOTE PLACEPOT DAY THREE TIPS – GLORIOUS GOODWOOD SELECTIONS ON THURSDAY
1:50 Goodwood – Unibet “15 To Go” Kincsem Handicap Cl2 (3yo) 1m2f
8 PATIENT DREAM – Already a dual-winner this term finding another jolt of improvement at Windsor latest. Also a winner at Epsom on his seasonal return and still unexposed so may do better still with stamina assured and ability to handle the ground not in question.
9 TARAASHOQ – Stepped up on his debut returning from a break and got off the mark at the third attempt at Nottingham last month, keeping on well and he ought to be suited by this longer trip moving into a handicap. May have more to offer but the yard has been quiet this week; nevertheless he’s open to improvement and could go well.
2:25 Goodwood – Unibet Richmond Stakes (Group 2) (Colts & Geldings) Cl1 (2yo) 6f
1 PERFECT POWER – Stepped up on a promising debut to reel off a brace of wins which include the Norfolk Stakes on his latest effort and Richard Fahey’s charge should continue his progress with another big effort. That Norfolk Stakes form has been franked and the longer trip ought to bring out more improvement so he’s a big player here.
2 ASYMMETRIC – Won his first two starts in good style before losing nothing in defeat latest in the July Stakes, run down close home by Lusail. Has won on good to soft before so conditions should be no issue and he’s open to improvement so ought to make his presence felt here.
3:00 Goodwood – John Pearce Racing Gordon Stakes (Group 3) Cl1 (3yo) 1m4f
7 THIRD REALM – Had subsequent Epsom Derby hero Adayar behind him when winning the Lingfield Derby Trial in May and while that form was subsequently reversed at Epsom it may be worth sticking with Roger Varian’s charge to get back on the scoresheet here.
The Sea The Stars colt ran better than the bare result when finishing fifth in the colts’ Classic, outpaced in the straight before running on although he was no match for the winner and the form of that race is working out really well.
This is easier dropping back in grade and he ought to be hard to keep out of the frame if not win this Group Three contest.
3:35 Goodwood – Qatar Nassau Stakes (Group 1) (British Champions Series) (Fillies & Mares) Cl1 (3yo+) 1m2f
2 LADY BOWTHORPE – Ascot Group Three winner last term who has looked as good as ever this term winnng a Group Two at Newmarket before very creditable runner-up finishes at Newbury and Ascot. Only beaten a length by Snow Lantern in the Falmouth Stakes where she wasn’t seen at her best and she could improve faced with this longer trip so rates a big player.
3 JOAN OF ARC – Three-time winner this term who has got better with each start, latterly winning the Prix de Diane at Chantilly having just missed out on the Irish 1000 Guineas. Had won a Group Three the time before and likely to have more to offer over this longer trip having appeared to relish the extra distance in that French success.
4:10 Goodwood – Goodwood Racecourse Patrons Nursery Handicap Cl2 (2yo) 7f
2 ADJUVANT – Unbeaten in two starts so far despite still looking inexperienced, but there’s surely better to come from her and she was impressive in defying a penalty at Salisbury latest in novice company. Sets out handicapping here from what could prove a very workable opening mark and looks set for another big run here.
4 ASWAN – Yet to open his account but has shown a good level of ability thus far, twice finishing runner-up and likely to continue to progress. Only beaten a nose last time by Prosperous Voyage and debut form looks strong so could be capable of a big run switching to handicaps.
7 HIGHLAND PREMIERE – Improving with racing and arrives on a hat-trick following wins at Hamilton and Catterick on contrasting ground. Seemed to relish the stiffer test latest where he was an impressive winner and he could go well here with further improvement not ruled out for a yard that enjoys plenty of success at this venue.
4:45 Goodwood – Tatler EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes (GBB Race) Cl2 (2yo) 7f
5 HELENE – Has shown decent form in landing a pair of bronze medals at Newbury this month and likely has more to offer for an in-form yard already amongst the winners this week. Stepped up on a promising debut to finish two lengths’ third latest and this extra furlong could bring about some further improvment so she could go well.
18 WILDERNESS GIRL – Shaped with promise in a Newmarket maiden earlier in the month, beaten two lengths into fourth behind Ardbraccan but is open to plenty of progress on the back of that debut having ran green early. Top yard has been amongst the winners this week and with improvement likely she merits strong consideration as a likely winner.
