TUESDAY HORSE RACING BEST BETS – TIPS FOR THE DAY’S FIXTURES ACROSS THE UK
1:30 Wolverhampton – MansionBet Betstival Flower Power Novice Median Auction Stakes Cl5 (3-5yo) 1m½f
EIKONIX ran well on his debut at Lingfield on the turf late last month and Andrew Balding’s charge can improve for the experience to get off the mark at the second attempt.
The Paco Boy colt finished third in that first run, beaten just over one length behind Makinitup with the front two pulling well clear and it was a useful effort given he perhaps didn’t fully act on the soft ground.
A quicker surface such as this may suit better and he is open to plenty of improvement on the back of that debut run so he could well get off the mark now at the second attempt with this slightly longer trip likely to be a positive.
3:35 Nottingham – It Pays To Buy Irish EBF Conditions Stakes Cl3 (3yo+) 5f
DUBAI STATION has had only four runs since joining Robert Cowell but the Brazen Beau gelding had been a very useful sort for Karl Burke before and the four-year old can get back on the scoresheet.
His last success came in a Group Three at Newcastle last June in that season’s Pavillion Stakes after which he was tried in Group One company and his last start for his old trainer came behind Battaash in the King George V Stakes.
Having joined this yard he has struggled to get competitive, failing to beat a rival home in any of his first three starts, but given a break after the latest of those he bounced back in an easier grade to chase home Emaraaty Ana at Hamilton when last seen and a replication of that effort could be good enough here.
4:10 Nottingham – Moorgate Drink Drive Rs Handicap (Jockey Club Grassroots Sprint Series Qualifier) Cl5 (3yo+ 0-70) 5f
BOUDICA BAY arrives in good fettle having won her last two starts and the Rip Van Winkle mare can land a hat-trick of victories here.
Eric Alston’s charge has struck thosw wins at this venue and Haydock in recent weeks and the latest of those victories saw her win a shade readily from Radrizzani where the third horse has won since.
Proven course-winning form is always a positive and while another 4lbs rise in the weights demands more from her she remains fairly treated on the balance of her best historic form and she can continue in form here to land the three-timer.
5:35 Lingfield – Free Tips On attheraces.com Handicap Cl6 (3yo+ 0-60) 1m2f
NO FLIES ON ME is a low-mileage sort who has shown bits and pieces of form and Mark Johnston’s charge can get off the mark now at the seventh attempt.
The Bow Creek filly turned in her best effort to date when finishing less than one length adrift of Temper Trap at Hamilton last month, making most but looking awkward mid race and perhaps not fully handling the track although he ran on well and only lost out close home.
That form has been boosted with the third and fifth horses home both winning since and he’s unchanged at the weights here so ought to turn in another big run from the same mark; while the booking of William Buick catches the eye on this occasion so he should go well with the trainer and jockey having a decent record when combining.
6:35 Lingfield – Sky Sports Racing Sky 415 Handicap Cl4 (3yo 0-85) 7f
BOWMAN is a dual-winner over this course on the polytrack and Mark Johnston’s charge can strike again having run well in defeat latest.
The Lawman gelding won twice last term and he returned this term with a very good win over the useful Rhoscolyn over course and distance in April although subsequent efforts weren’t as pleasing and he struggled although to be fair to him he likely didn’t enjoy the softer ground.
He bounced back latest with a better run at Ayr when faced with a quicker surface at Ayr and that looks fairly useful form so back at this venue and surface and having been eased another 1lb in the ratings it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him turn in a big run in the hope of getting back to winning ways.
8:50 Chelmsford – Barking Brickwork Contractors Ltd Classified Stakes Cl6 (3yo+ 0-50) 6f
PERFECT SYMPHONY has a decent record at this venue and the Dandy Man gelding can get back to winning ways here.
Mark Pattinson’s charge had made the frame in his last few runs, most recently when finding only one too strong at this venue over seven furlongs where he was always prominent but couldn’t match the winner for speed before running on again late and he was only a neck adrift at the line.
The fifth horse home in that contest has won since and he’s only 3lbs higher on this occasion so ought to remain competitive despite the rise in the weights and no surprise if he were to go close once more.
