Horse Racing Tips on Tuesday, July 19
The weather has put paid too much of the racing on Tuesday, July 19th with only two meetings now scheduled to take place, the action coming from Musselburgh and Ballinrobe. Our expert tipster has produced their best bets across the cards, which make up our advised Tuesday Lucky 15.
Flylikeaneagle (1.50 Musselburgh) 4/1
Lucinda Russell’s FLYLIKEANEAGLE looks the one to beat in Musselburgh’s opening 100% Racing TV Profits Back To Racing Apprentice Handicap.
This 5yo Free Eagle gelding made a winning debut for these connections when landing a 1m2f Ayr handicap at the start of this month.
Dropped back to a mile at that venue last time, Flylikeaneagle was just caught a little flat-footed once the race began but stayed on to good effect late on, ultimately beaten just a half-length by Shine On Brendan, who had won three of his previous four starts.
Going back up in trip looks a big plus for Flylikeaneagle on that evidence, whilst rider William Pyle now removes a handy 3lb, so with further improvement still more than possible for this yard he rates the one to be with.

Tuesday Lucky 15 Tips. Jockey William Pyle can land Musselburgh’s opener with Flylikeaneagle.
The Gay Blade (3.35 Musselburgh) 11/2
Musselburgh’s Thank You Lizzie Classified Stakes looks an open affair on paper, and at the prices, a chance can be taken on THE GAY BLADE.
Iain Jardine’s gelding made a promising handicap debut when fifth over this course and distance in April, a run worth upgrading as he’d pulled very hard in the early stages of the race.
The Gay Blade has only finished sixth in handicaps over 5f the last twice, but he does appear to find things happening too quick over that distance and is expected to be more at home back over 7f. Dropped to this level for the first time, and being the youngest and least exposed runner in this field, he looks the one to be with.
Telecon (4.30 Ballinrobe) 8/1
Mark Fahey makes the journey west with a pair of runners on Ballinrobe’s Tuesday card, his TELECON entered in the opening Pat Dermody Memorial Maiden Hurdle.
This son of Telescope was third in what looked like an above-average point-to-point at Borris House in December (winner since purchased for 350,000 guineas) and he backed that effort up with a fine bumper third at Clonmel.
Telecon maintained his upward curve when a close fourth at Wexford last month, staying on from out wide just lacking the pace of those ahead of him. He looks a likely improver for this switch to hurdles, and it’s interesting that connections now turn to a first-time hood.
Granted natural improvement from that latest run Telecon wouldn’t have masses to find with the market principles here, so he can be backed to take this event.

Tuesday Lucky 15 Tips. Irish Grand National winner Ricky Doyle can claim victory on Ballinrobe’s card with Telecon.
Flyaway Maggie (5.30 Ballinrobe) 12/1
FLYAWAY MAGGIE looks like a particularly interesting runner in the David Heneghan Memorial Handicap Hurdle at Ballinrobe on Tuesday.
This daughter of Vadamos didn’t cut a whole amount of ice in a trio of hurdles starts earlier this year, but she was an eyecatcher in an extended 1m1f maiden here last month.
Flyaway Maggie showed that run to be no fluke when a close-up fifth in a Tramore maiden hurdle next time out, where she raced freely at the head of affairs but still looked in contention before stumbling badly after landing two-out and ultimately fading into fifth on the run-in.
Flyaway Maggie now makes her hurdles debut off what looks a workable opening mark of 87, and if the addition of a hood allows her to conserve some energy in the early part of her race, she should be bang there at the business end.
