Horse Racing Tips on Tuesday, January 25

There are three meetings spread across Britain on Tuesday, January 25th with the action coming from Leicester, Lingfield and Southwell. Our expert tipster has produced their best bets across the cards, which make up our advised Tuesday Lucky 15.

Anightinlambourn (1:50 Leicester)

It’s interesting to see ANIGHTINLAMBOURN make her chasing debut on Tuesday after an encouraging return to form last time out at Doncaster over the smaller obstacles.

Despite only being successful once over hurdles, the eight-year-old has performed with credit in the majority of her outings and certainly hinted last time out that she has clearly benefited from a recent wind operation.

Ben Pauling’s charge travelled well under jockey Luca Morgan when last seen and looked poised to mount a challenge to the eventual winner Ginger Du Val turning into the straight.

That latest encouraging performance should see the mare strip fitter as she embarks on her chasing career and connections will be hoping she can make an immediate impact in this discipline off a mark of 105.

Imperial Hurricane (2:20 Leicester)

There was plenty of mark support behind IMPERIAL HURRICANE on debut at Wetherby earlier in the month and despite finishing fifth, the five-year-old will have come on plenty for that initial outing and looks the type to improve dramatically now sent over hurdles by connections.

Having been sent off a well-backed favourite on his first start, Imperial Hurricane shaped encouragingly when staying on in the closing stages after being briefly outpaced by his nearest rivals.

Kim Bailey’s charge will be a different proposition now his stamina is drawn out on hurdling debut and it would be no surprise to see Imperial Hurricane make a winning start over the smaller obstacles at a track where the yard have thrived with an impressive 40% strike rate in the last twelve months.

Moveonup (3:00 Lingfield)

Although this is a desperately low-grade affair, it looks like a good opportunity for MOVEONUP to register a fourth career success now reunited with jockey Luke Morris.

Gay Kelleway’s six-year-old last tasted success in October 2020 off a mark of 62 and despite showing little in his first few starts this season, Moveonup hinted at a return to winning ways last time out at Chelmsford when finishing second over 6f after making the running under an inexperienced 7lb claimer.

The return to 5f should ideally suit and with jockey Luke Morris back in the saddle, the six-year-old should be on the front end throughout and will be tough to reel in from a perfect draw in stall 1.

Talking About You (7:00 Southwell)

It was only a couple of seasons ago when TALKING ABOUT YOU racked up a hat-trick of wins over hurdles including at Listed level at Aintree and Taunton, and although she failed to get her head in front in five subsequent starts in that discipline, Sean Curran’s charge hinted at a return to winning ways when racing over an inadequate trip back on the level at Wolverhampton earlier this month.

The five-year-old found the extended 1m5f trip on the short side that day and after racing in rear throughout that particular contest, the mare was staying on best of all in the closing stages but was unable to justify favouritism off a mark of 60.

Connections may have been surprised to see the handicapper drop her 2lb for that effort and with useful 5lb claimer Callum Hutchinson maintaining the partnership, Talking About You makes obvious appeal now back up to 2miles in what looks an ideal opportunity for her to return to the winner’s enclosure.
