1:45 Gowran Park – Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden (Plus 10 Race) (Div I) (2yo) 7f
LET ME PASS appears to be getting better with each run and the Raven’s Pass colt is taken to get off the mark now at the fourth attempt.
Mick Halford’s charge has improved his finishing position with every start since finishing out of the frame on debut, latterly finding only Doolin Dancer too strong at Kilbeggan where the ground was soft.
He possibly just did too much at the head of affairs there and he might be seen to better light dropping back to this seven furlongs with this deeper ground not expected to inconvenience so it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see him in the mix here.
2:55 Gowran Park – Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race (Plus 10 Race) (2yo) 7f
COSMIC VEGA looked a potentially smart recruit when readily winning on debut at Leopardstown in August, beating Razdan by almost three lengths; the Lope De Vega colt then lost nothing in defeat with a solid fourth behind Sweet Gardenia when tried in a Listed contest at Tipperary latest.
Beaten three lengths on that occasion where he perhaps wasn’t helped by racing keenly in the ground he turned in a good effort nonetheless and he can do better here if able to curb his enthusiasm under Shane Foley.
He’s likely to have further progress to offer and with conditions no problem he ought to post a big run in this easier contest.
3:30 Gowran Park – PWC Kilkenny Handicap (3yo+ 70-100) 7f
COMFORT LINE can bet back on the winning trail having made the frame in each of his two starts back following a short break and Michael Mulvaney’s charge should make his presence felt.
The Alhebayeb gelding was a Limerick winner on better ground back in July, beating Mosala, but he couldn’t match that level in two subsequent outings prior to taking a couple of months off. He has returned in good fettle however, finishing third at Tipperary in testing ground and then finding only one too good latest in heavy conditions at Limerick earlier in the month.
Beaten just over one length he was run down late by the winner, but he could go one better here with a repeat where he can race from the same mark; while Ben Coen’s 3lbs claim helps with his burden at the weights.
He also wore a tongue-tie in that last start which is retained for this outing and the yard does well with its’ soft ground runners so every chance he can go close here.
5:05 Gowran Park – Racing Again November 20th Handicap (4yo+ 45-70) 1m
BLANKIEDOODIE is being kept busy since lockdown but the Halling gelding shows no signs of feeling the effects of her busy spell and is taken to get back on the scoresheet here.
This will be the twelfth start for John McConnell’s charge since returning from lockdown and he has made the frame on a number of runs including landing a win at Thurles earlier in October where he beat Adapt To Dan by a head.
A good third under a penalty and welter-weight at Cork latest he can be expected to turn in another good performance in conditions that are fine for him and this mark of 64 remains feasible given he arrives in solid form and ought to continue to make his presence felt.
