Horse Racing Tips on Wednesday, February 2

There are three meetings spread across Britain on Wednesday, February 2nd with the action coming from Leicester, Exeter and Kempton. Our expert tipster has produced their best bets across the cards, which make up our advised Wednesday Lucky 15.

Bari Breeze (1.40 Exeter)

Exeter’s opening extended 2m2f Virgin Bet Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle looks an open contest and it could pay to chance BARI BREEZE for the rejuvenated Milton Harris yard.

This Shirocco gelding justified favouritism to run out a 6l winner of a Newton Abbot bumper last September. Although 0-5 hurdling since, Bari Breeze has finished runner-up on two of those starts, most recently when chasing home the now 122-rated World Of Dreams at Fontwell in November.

Bari Breeze has struggled since sent handicapping subsequently, but he had excuses for those runs having found 3m1f too far at Catterick and then soft ground proving against him at Haydock. This intermediate distance back on genuinely good ground should prove ideal and the second start after a wind op could prove the ideal time to catch Bari Breeze.

Judex Lefou (3.40 Exeter)

The feature handicap on Exeter’s Wednesday card is the 2m3f Virgin Bet Handicap Chase which, on paper at least, provides JUDEX LEFOU a good opportunity to break his maiden tag.

Tim Vaughan’s charge hasn’t managed to get his head in front in 20 previous starts, yet has some smart backform to his name in Ireland against bonafide 130+ rated horses, and he has had limited opportunities over fences, having finished third in both chase starts to date.

He runs off a career-low mark of 86 here, and has ground conditions to suit, so there’s every chance that this slight step up in distance works the oracle.

Gerolamo Cardano (3.50 Leicester)

Leicester’s Next Meeting @leicesterraces Thursday 17th February Handicap Hurdle closes the Wednesday card and the 2m4f contest provides GEROLAMO CARDANO with a good opportunity to get himself back in the winner’s enclosure.

This 6yo once finished within 3l of the now 133-rated Galahad Quest in a Cheltenham Grade 2 Juvenile Hurdle, and although he has generally struggled for form since, the handicapper has dropped Gerolamo Cardano to a mark of 97 – which he looks more than capable of capitalising upon.

Something of an eye-catcher at Bangor on seasonal reappearance, Gerolamo Cardano looks a big player of 3lb lower dropped to 0-110 company for the first time in his career.

Love Dreams (7.30 Kempton)

The 7f Unibet 3 Uniboosts A Day Handicap takes place at Kempton on Wednesday evening, and if there’s a runner in the line-up that looks a little overpriced then it appears to be the Michael Blake trained LOVE DREAMS.

The son of Dream Ahead was once rated in the mid 100s for Mark Johnston, and now finds himself on a rating of just 75.

He racked up a string of placed efforts here at Kempton last year, and although the most recent of those runs came over a mile the majority of Love Dreams’ best performances have come over this 7f trip.

Jockey Marco Ghiani has form figures of 3124 aboard Love Dreams, so his presence in the saddle on Wednesday evening looks a notable one.
