A case can be made for a few of these, but VENTURA EXPRESS gets the verdict given he didn’t enjoy the rub of the green when eighth in the Great St Wilfrid at Ripon (second in his group behind a subsequent winner) and can race off a 2lb lower mark. Dark Shot is weighted to have a big say if on his A-game, as is Vintage Clarets (second choice) who has been keeping better company and returns from a break after being gelded.
