Form & Verdict
Left behind by Constitution Hill when well-held second in Supreme at Cheltenham Festival in March but won his other four novice hurdles last season, including a Grade 1 at Aintree (2m, good to soft) in April and two Grade 2s, and is a very exciting prospect for novice chases this term.

Has maintained an incredibly high standard in Grade 1s over 2m but, although he has won here, his rare reverses have come on this track; no longer quite the speedster he used to be at 2m and the extra stamina test was a help when winning at Ascot (about 2m5f, good to soft) last month, where he could have settled for second had his enduring will to win not come to his aid; now defends a strike-rate of 3-3 at about this trip but it remains to be seen whether he can rise to this very big occasion.

Acts on any ground; yet to finish out of the first two; formerly dominant at shorter but has lost a bit of his speed and was aided by the stiff test over the 2m1f trip at Ascot (soft) most recently, recording a second success in the Clarence House and 11th Grade 1 win; seems to be crying out for this step back up in distance and, still high class at the age of ten, may well add to his impressive tally; 2-2 over 2m4f, both in the Melling at Aintree; cheekpieces worn in last two starts are retained.

Form & Verdict
Grade 1 juvenile hurdle winner two seasons back; 0-3 last term but the first two efforts can be excused to some extent and he returned to form with creditable second in Aintree Hurdle (2m4f, good to soft) on final outing; still only a 5yo and has plenty of potential now switched to fences; respected.

2024 Pertemps Final winner but that was off 8lb lower; contested two Grade 1s last spring, before a wind operation (his second) and heavy defeat when returned to fences three months ago (easily his worst chase performance); Freddie Keighley takes off 7lb on this return to a handicap.

Creditable fifth to Gwennie May Boy on this card last year, having won the Pertemps Final (3m, soft) the time before; creditable second in Grade 2 contests the last twice but this is harder; well beaten in this race in 2023.

Form & Verdict
Very useful handicap hurdler who returned from long absence to win Greatwood at Cheltenham (2m, good) a year ago and also ran very well when second in Scottish Champion Hurdle at Ayr (2m, good to soft) in April; no match for ready winner when second of four here (2m4f, good to soft) on recent chasing debut and has a bit to find on the figures with his two rivals today but it won't be a big surprise if he holds his own.

Pulled up over fences the last twice and something to prove regarding current form, but the return to hurdles could be just what he needs and he's well treated on last season's best form in this sphere; in calculations.

Last win came in the Greatwood at Cheltenham in November 2021; feasibly treated despite being 5lb higher and he'll probably be glad to see the back of fences; couldn't be too dismissive.

Returned from long absence to win major handicap hurdle at Cheltenham (2m, good) in November 2021 and made quite promising chasing debut in November last year, but his run at Kempton on Boxing Day was disappointing and he returns from wind surgery with a point to prove.
