in touch with leaders, close up when not fluent and pushed along briefly 4 out, headway 3 out, pushed along and went second before 2 out, not fluent 2 out, soon ridden, ran on after last, led towards finish (trainer said, regarding the apparent improved form shown, that the race got away from the gelding on good ground over two and a half miles at killarney whereas today the gelding was ridden handy in a steadier run race over three miles with his best work being done at the finish. jockey said gelding got squeezed at the last bend) |
