Form & Verdict
Having only second run for Willie Mullins when beaten a neck by Jonbon in Grade 1 novice hurdle at Aintree last spring; has created a tremendous impression since with wide-margin wins in two novice chases, latterly forging 10l clear of a strong field in Grade 1 at Leopardstown (2m1f, yielding; also successful on heavy) in February; still has room for improvement in his jumping but has top-class form and looks the one to beat with a clear round.

Probably acts on any going; high class over fences until jumping issues developed; has proved suited by the return to hurdles and an easy win at Leopardstown (2m2f) last time took his record in this sphere to 4-7; the best horse in this field if viewed on his peak chase form.

Outstanding 2m novice chaser at his peak; became plagued by jumping frailties; fell in a number of Grade 1 contests; reverted to hurdles with a smooth 8.5l success at Punchestown on New Year's Day on seasonal return (2m3f, yielding), second won Gr.3 next time; this is much easier than the Irish Champion Hurdle (2m, heavy) last time, in which he finished last of five; huge chance.

An outstanding 2m novice chaser at his peak; became plagued by jumping frailties; fell last season in Grade 1 races here, at Aintree and at Punchestown; return to hurdling did the trick at Punchestown a month ago, beating subsequent Grade 3 hurdle winner Glen Kiln and Cotswold Chase winner Spillane's Tower.

Form & Verdict
Brother to the mighty Douvan, who scooted up in this contest in 2016; runner-up to Constitution Hill in last year's Supreme and has taken well to fences this season, unbeaten in three races; impressive in Grade 1 at Sandown (1m7f, good to soft; handles softer) in December, rather less so in two-runner Grade 2 at Warwick last month; jumps soundly and unlikely to be far away.

Jonbon

Has maintained an incredibly high standard in Grade 1s over 2m but, although he has won here, his rare reverses have come on this track; no longer quite the speedster he used to be at 2m and the extra stamina test was a help when winning at Ascot (about 2m5f, good to soft) last month, where he could have settled for second had his enduring will to win not come to his aid; now defends a strike-rate of 3-3 at about this trip but it remains to be seen whether he can rise to this very big occasion.

Acts on any ground; yet to finish out of the first two; formerly dominant at shorter but has lost a bit of his speed and was aided by the stiff test over the 2m1f trip at Ascot (soft) most recently, recording a second success in the Clarence House and 11th Grade 1 win; seems to be crying out for this step back up in distance and, still high class at the age of ten, may well add to his impressive tally; 2-2 over 2m4f, both in the Melling at Aintree; cheekpieces worn in last two starts are retained.

Promoted third to Honeysuckle in last year's Champion Hurdle; built on a satisfactory chasing debut when workmanlike winner at Leopardstown (2m1f, yielding) on Boxing Day, before unseating his rider before halfway in the Grade 1 won by El Fabiolo there five weeks ago; successful in just one of his last 11 races and others, including at least two of his stablemates, make more appeal.

Form & Verdict
Flagbearer for the Sheila Lewis yard who scored twice over hurdles in 2020 and has reached new heights over fences this season, two wins including a game effort over C&D (good ground; handles soft too) in October; however, this represents by far his sternest assignment and he's understandably one of the outsiders.

Free-going type (always wears a hood) who flattered to deceive several times over hurdles (one win from seven attempts); he's the sort to make a better chaser and his second of four in a Grade 3 at Navan (2m, good to yielding) ten days ago was creditable, but as things stand he has plenty to find on form with the market leaders.

Splendidly durable mare with nine wins to her name from 75 outings, Flat and jumps; off the mark over fences when landing the odds in a small-field novice at Ludlow (2m4f, good) three weeks ago, but she takes a pronounced rise in class here and would be a shock winner.

Always looked an embryonic chaser in his younger days and duly stepped up markedly on hurdle form when making winning debut over fences at Chepstow (2m, good) in October; it's unlikely we've seen the best of him but he has a great deal to find with all of today's rivals.

Excitable front-runner who had been joined by Jonbon when falling three out in last year's Supreme; has quickly made into a better chaser this season, jumping notably fluently when winning at Leopardstown just after Christmas and when just over 10l fourth to El Fabiolo in Grade 1 there (2m1f, yielding; lost two places near finish) last month; today's slightly shorter distance may play to his strengths; likely to put up a bold show in front and not dismissed lightly.
