Form & Verdict
Flopped badly when favourite for Grade 2 novices' handicap hurdle at Newbury in March and not seen again since but her wide-margin win at Sedgefield (2m4f, good) two starts ago was quite impressive and, having won an Irish point in 2021, she's a good chasing prospect.

Lightly raced for an 8yo; point/hurdle winner and returned from an absence to make a successful chase debut over C&D (soft) three weeks ago, which was pretty straightforward from off the pace; up 6lb but that looks very manageable.

Form & Verdict
Came good over hurdles with two 2m1f wins in the spring (soft/good); ran as though something was amiss in October, after a break, but remains open to further improvement if all goes to plan on today's chasing debut.

Dual Fontwell winner over hurdles but she stopped quickly on her chase debut here two months ago behind Plenty Of Time and, even if back on song, these terms are tough.

Form & Verdict
Bumper/hurdle winner who recovered from siginficant jumping error on final circuit to finish second of 12 on last month's seasonal/chase debut at Ayr (2m4f, good to soft); has to take a 3lb rise on the chin but still needs to be taken very seriously here.

She was perhaps fading when badly hampered by a faller three out at Cheltenham (2m4f, soft) three weeks ago; however, prior to that she was a promising second on her chase/stable debut at Ayr (2m4f, good to soft) and is in calculations on that form; runner-up in a point on soft ground.

Won at Newcastle in 2022 in a bumper and a maiden hurdle; had wind surgery in August and her second of 12 at Ayr (2m4f, good to soft; not proven on soft) on chase/seasonal debut was a good effort in the tongue-tie first time; there's room for improvement in her jumping and, although raised 3lb, she could be thereabouts.

Form & Verdict
Ridden clear to win Huntingdon maiden hurdle (2m4f, good) in February and was very creditable second in Grade 2 novices' handicap at Newbury (2m4f, soft) the following month; makes chasing debut after 233-day absence but still features prominently in calculations.

Two fair chase runs this winter but may be better employed back hurdling, having run so well in one previous handicap, at Newbury (2m4f, soft) last March against one who is much more highly rated now; good contender.

Form & Verdict
0-6 over fences last season and arguably better suited by further than 2m4f but makes her reappearance from a dangerous mark and can't be ignored; cheekpieces removed; tongue-tie fitted.

0-8 over fences but went close at Ffos Las (2m5f, heavy) on reappearance; lesser effort at Newbury since came in a deeper race and different headgear; could well rebound in this field with cheekpieces reapplied.

Form & Verdict
2-5 in novice/maiden hurdles this season, the wins gained at Worcester (2m4f, good to soft) and Newton Abbot (2m1f, heavy) in September; below form on latest outing but still looks interesting on today's chase/handicap debut.

Dual hurdle winner in mares' novice company in September (2m4f, good to soft/2m1f, heavy) and the form of latter win has been very well advertised by the runner-up since; enters the equation on her chase/handicap debut.

Verdict

In an interesting mares’ chase the suggestion is I AM GONNA BE, who came from a poor position for a creditable second in her seasonal/chase debut at Ayr last month. Aubis Walk, Somespring Special and Presenting Nelly (preferred in that order) all disappointed on their latest hurdling starts but remain good chasing prospects.[Chris Wilson]
