Form & Verdict
Sole defeat over hurdles came at the Cheltenham Festival when not disgraced; finished 18l behind Arclight at Exeter on the switch to chasing but may resume her progress with that outing/experience under her belt; still of interest.

Form & Verdict
Bumper/hurdles scorer at 2m; good second to Marsh Wren, despite making errors, in C&D handicap on the switch to fences; not weighted to reverse placings with that rival but could go well again, especially if jumping better.

Second win over fences when keeping on well to beat 12 rivals in a 2m4f Cheltenham handicap for mares in December (good to soft) and appeared to lose her concentration when unseating mid-race at Windsor; that raises some alarms as it appeared she tried to run out, but the ability is there to be competitive.

2-8 over fences, with the wins over about 2m4f in a first-time visor last February and returning cheekpieces (first headgear this term) five weeks ago; 22-1 for the latter in what seemed a warm race at Cheltenham but she did it in clearcut fashion; big player on that but 5lb higher today and it might be argued that she is less potent in second-time headgear.

Form & Verdict
Defied top weight in C&D handicap (soft) last month on chase/seasonal debut, beating two of these rivals and taking career record to 6-10; acts on heavy ground; progressive in the main and could well rate higher still; commands respect.

Form & Verdict
Point/hurdles winner; two sound efforts since switched to chasing, strong-finishing third behind Marsh Wren and Game On For Glory over C&D latest; tad worse off with those opponents, however, and seems to be crying out for further now.

Placed in valuable series final over fences at Fakenham (2m5f, good to soft) in January but rest of last season's form was disappointing and it's hard to predict whether she'll be in the right mood for this return to hurdling; tried blinkers when pulled up last time; usual cheekpieces return.

Arrested her decline when placed in valuable final of this mares' series here (2m5f, good to soft; refitted cheekpieces) in January; two lesser efforts have followed and she's unreliable nowadays but she could be too good for this field if perked up by a change of headgear.

Made all in this race on good ground a year ago and returned to some form with third in a valuable series final at Fakenham (2m5f, good to soft) in January; however, not so good when back at Fakenham last month and this regressive 10yo has become unreliable.

Form & Verdict
Couple of wins over hurdles at Fontwell in the spring; form dipped sharply over fences at Wincanton in hat-trick attempt; may bounce back at some stage but this looks a very difficult task; has the worst chance at the weights.

4-14 over fences; October's Chepstow win (2m3f, good) triggered this career-high mark, off which she was found wanting by some way at Kempton, admittedly in a useful handicap; this shorter trip is another slight query.

Useful 4yo who is 2-2 since switched to fences, winning at Kempton (2m2f, good) and Exeter (2m1f, good to soft; Listed) despite making a late error both times; open to further progress; leading player provided she stays this new trip.

Reverted to fences with a hard-fought success at Stratford (2m1f, good) and perhaps found good to firm too lively when tailed off back there 28 days ago; can be hard to predict but she's capable of a big run.

Not really firing on all cylinders over hurdles this spring but reverted to fences with a hard-fought success here (2m1f, good; front pair clear) last month and has obvious claims if in similar form again today.

Verdict

Arclight scored in Listed grade last time and has a good chance on ratings. However, judged on breeding she isn’t a certain stayer over this new trip, especially if the ground is testing. MARSH WREN (nap), a progressive mare whose latest success came over C&D, looks a rock-solid alternative while Endless Escape (second choice) and Game On For Glory are also in the mix.[Steve Boow]
