Form & Verdict
Won three times over hurdles last year (once over C&D), and his second to a progressive rival at Bangor (2m7f, soft) in October was arguably a career-best effort; slightly disappointing at Ascot last month this race is easier and his current mark is workable.

Best effort this term when second in this grade at Market Rasen (2m7f, good) on penultimate start; on last winning mark so holds a fighting chance from a handicapping perspective.

Well handicapped and looked booked for a return to winning ways at Market Rasen (2m7f, good) until reeled in late on; strongly considered on the back of that effort.

About 47l behind Halifax over C&D on handicap debut last February and not seen again since but his first two hurdle runs were very encouraging and he remains unexposed; no surprise is he features.

Prevailed in a Pertemps qualifier at Chepstow (2m7f, soft) to make it four wins from his last seven starts; building up a respectable strike-rate and the 9yo has certainly improved with age; not ruled out.

Two soft-ground wins last term and another at Newbury (3m) on reappearance; respectable third to King Of The Lake here but not so good at Warwick latest; needs to find extra and 7lb-claiming amateur (who rode a winner for the stable last Saturday) is recruited.

Good strike-rate (3-5) in 2025; creditable third at Chepstow (2m7f) last time and remains in form but is held by Royal Rambler on that effort and has perhaps reached his ceiling after climbing the weights.

Form & Verdict
2-4 as a novice hurdler in first few months of 2022 and, following a long absence, made fairly encouraging handicap debut at Market Rasen (2m4f, good to soft) in November, keeping on steadily from the rear for fifth; moves back up in trip here and has possibilities if that outing did her good.

Much better known as a marathon chaser; looked out of sorts towards towards end of last season and was again pulled up when reverting to hurdles for last month's reappearance outing; needs to stop the rot.

Veteran who is very well suited by this track and won't fail through lack of stamina; proved he retains some ability when respectable fourth at Warwick (3m1f, soft) in January but was pulled up on three of his last four appearances and it's hard to predict whether he'll fancy the job today.

It was over hurdles that he pulled up on his comeback and this is more his game, though he also failed to complete on his final two chases of last season; has just turned 12 and might do well to get his form back.

Ultimately well beaten when fourth at Warwick (3m2f, soft) in November and now 0-8 over hurdles but that was his first run for a year and significant positives can be drawn from that performance; not out of this.

This trip on deep ground is right up his alley and after winning narrowly at Carlisle (3m1f, heavy) he just missed out at Hexham (2m7f); up a combined 7lb but looks sure to give his running and be involved.

Opened account over C&D (good to soft) in November, his second handicap, and last month's third at Aintree (3m, heavy) was perfectly respectable; should still have a bit more to offer; good chance.

Record of 1-10 over hurdles and has the same strike-rate over fences; his last success was in a chase handicap at Warwick (3m, good) last April but he's not matched that form since and was tailed off at Exeter last time; comes with risks attached after a break and his last hurdle run was 12 months ago.

Dual chase winner in early part of last year (2m3f/2m5f) and made satisfactory seasonal debut here on New Year's Day; reverts to hurdling on a lower mark and today's trip/ground will suit; can't be ignored.

Has more wins over fences, most recently at Exeter (3m, good to soft) last month under Ciaran O'Shea; failed to fire 20 days later but he's effective in this sphere as shown when a close second at Chepstow in February; yet to win from a mark this high but should be firmly in the mix.

Often front-runner; ridden by Ciaran O'Shea on last four starts; 7-22 in chases (one of his hurdles wins was this track) and those wins include his last two completed starts in this sphere, the latest at Exeter (3m, good to soft) three weeks ago; this trip is unknown territory but he ran well over an extended 3m4f at Stratford in 2024; has to be in serious calculations.

Back to form to win a Wincanton chase (3m1f, soft) in December and nearly went in again back over hurdles at Chepstow in a race he won the previous year; nothing wrong with this mark and stable goes well.

Verdict

There should still be more to come from MOONLIGHT ARTIST, who looked suited by the step up in trip when scoring over C&D in November and was not discredited on very testing ground at Aintree last month. Halifax ought to find this easier than his latest assignment at Ascot and is second choice, ahead of Eavesdropping.[Chris Wilson]
