Verdict
Merry Monty has finished second over hurdles and fences in his last two runs and is strongly respected. My Granny Lily could benefit from this drop back in trip and has possibilities on her return to hurdling, while Churchman also enters the reckoning along with Freddie Fleetwood, who ran well from a long way out of the weights here last time. However, the vote goes to Alan King’s 4yo STAR TURN, who has shown promise with his two runner-up efforts in this sphere and is open to more progress on his handicap hurdle debut.[David Moon]
