Form & Verdict
Didn't jump well when unplaced favourite on handicap debut at Haydock (1m7f, heavy) in December; however, prior to that he showed considerable promise when runner-up on his first two starts, at Auteuil (2m2f, heavy) and in a warm maiden at Aintree (2m4f, good to soft), and this looks very winnable.

Improved his rating in every one of his eight chases, winning four and that includes the 2m4f Plate at last year's Cheltenham Festival; first venture much beyond 2m5f had to wait until his return to Cheltenham last month, in which he came from out the back to get within half a length of the winner Johnnywho; that showed he stays 3m1f and suggested he's still capable of better, but his jumping contained unnerving moments; wears cheekpieces first time and a half-brother probably stays 4m.

Highly progressive switched to fences last season, a campaign that culminated in a convincing win in the Plate here (2m4f, good to soft) in March; he's kept on well over 2m4f here (good to soft/soft) on both runs this season, beaten just a head last time when 10l clear of the third; today's first crack at a staying trip could prompt further improvement; lots to like.

Highly progressive 7yo; won at this meeting on soft ground 12 months ago and followed up in the Plate at the Festival; extended his run of excellent C&D efforts with an unlucky third six weeks ago, finishing well after making the odd mistake and being short of room; leading contender again off just 1lb higher.

Form & Verdict
3m point runner-up who won on bumper debut at Hexham (heavy) last March; soundly beaten fourth on hurdle debut there (2m4f, heavy) in November but may have needed the run/experience; in good hands to progress and this half-brother to Grade 1 winner Inthepocket remains one to be interested in.

Heavy-ground bumper winner; made a meal of justifying short odds in a Hexham maiden 16 days ago (2m4f, heavy) and only one other rival completed; perhaps better judged on his superior effort here the time before and he brings potential into handicaps, especially at this trip.

Won his bumper here on heavy ground; not at his best in a 2m4f maiden here but proved that run to be all wrong when narrowly beaten by his talented market rival over 2m3f at Carlisle (heavy), finishing miles clear of the remainder; has a bright future and should be winning this.

Form & Verdict
Mixed form in points but won at 16-1 on rules debut in novice hurdle at Newcastle (2m1f, soft) last month; improvement needed to defy penalty today but his useful half-brother Evander was at his best over 2m4f and this unexposed 6yo should be suited by the step up in trip; entitled to respect.

Absent since tailed off at Hexham last March; however, he's had wind surgery since and showed ability previously, including when fourth in a warm maiden at Uttoxeter last February; not ruled out.

This is much easier than the three 0-120 novice handicaps he's contested over fences so far, but mistakes have been as much the issue as race class, as was again the case at Carlisle latest; down 3lb more.

Point runner-up (3m, soft) who won a handicap hurdle at Bangor (2m7f, good) in June; he's well treated on that form and things may click over fences at some stage, but there have been jumping errors and heavy defeats on his first two chase starts.

Form & Verdict
Placed over hurdles/fences in France and the return of a hood could be a positive on his second British start; however, he was tailed off over hurdles at Wetherby (2m3f, soft) on Boxing Day and others are preferred.
