Form & Verdict
5-14 over hurdles, the latest win gained in quite valuable Class 2 handicap at Kempton (2m5f, good to soft) in March; didn't fire at least month's Aintree festival but has an obvious chance if he takes well to chasing at the first attempt.

First run over the National fences; inconsistent this season and no match for stablemate Madara (who remains Harry Skelton's mount) when ninth of 23 in the Plate at Cheltenham last month; however, Aintree brought out the best in him last year and he's well handicapped on that form; one to consider.

Has hurdle form at Cheltenham over a similar trip to today's but he races mostly on sharp tracks, albeit with soft ground against him in January when well back in his sole chase start here; never showed with a chance when upped to 3m at Kempton recently and he's no strong option to improve a 2-15 strike-rate over fences; yard runs two others with better claims.

Only 2-14 as a chaser but has been highly tried on occasions, as when not far away in a 2m4f Grade 1 at Aintree last April; another good run in a Grade 2 here last month (RPR right up there with his best) and soft ground was no good to him back in a handicap at Cheltenham; patient tactics are likely now sent further and could be interesting with Harry Atkins claiming 7lb, provided conditions don't soften.

Form & Verdict
Not quite at his best over hurdles a fortnight ago, after a break, but was placed in Class 3 handicap chases at Cheltenham (2m4f, good) and Newbury (2m7f, good to soft) in the autumn and that form makes him of strong interest.

On a good mark if able to rediscover his peak form but his debut for this yard was disappointing and that was back in August.

Form & Verdict
Made disappointing start to chasing career in 2022-23 season (two attempts); returned from layoff with pleasing second in Class 3 handicap hurdle at Wincanton (2m4f, soft; also suited by good) in November but was safely held on only other appearance last season and it's hard to know what to expect from him as he begins his second spell over fences

Chasing didn't go to plan last season and he was a mid-race faller when returned to hurdling in the spring but his reappearance second at Wincanton (2m4f, soft) in November was very encouraging and his current mark ought to be workable; shortlisted.

Form & Verdict
Useful hurdler; fell on two of his three chasing attempts last season and comes with obvious risk here but proved his wellbeing when placed in competitive handicap hurdle at Sandown (2m4f, good) a fortnight ago and has the raw ability to be very dangerous if all goes to plan.

Form & Verdict
Made several jumping errors when well-held third on chasing debut in 2022 and was quickly reverted to hurdling; useful in that sphere when on song and will be suited by today's trip/ground but his tendency to race too freely remains a concern, and he's a risky option on this second attempt over fences.

Useful in his prime; badly out of sorts for Alison Thorpe last year (five runs) but makes stable debut from a very dangerous mark and with the trip/ground suitable; well worth keeping an eye on in the betting.

Useful for Paul Nicholls a few years ago but well beaten on all four starts for Alison Thorpe this year; swaps cheekpieces for first-time blinkers here; urgently needs to prove some ability remains.
